Ah! My Goddess TV series (first season)

I've read on anime news network there is gonna be a new Ah! My Goddess anime. Does anyone know if this is going to be a movie or an entire series (/me hopes it'll be like this). Does anyone know something more?

The obi on Volume 28 of the manga announces "new TV anime for Ah! Megami-sama announced! Further details on the next issue of Afternoon Magazine."

...so to clearify: "TV anime" sounds like a series, not another movie...

But sounds good though! More Skuld :) (my favorite AMG character)

more AMG in general! and maybe...PEORTH!!!!

"Obi" - that's the little paper dingus they wrap around the outer cover of tankubon? Never heard it called anything before.

I guess I could stand to see another TV series for this title. Seeing as much of Peorth as possible would definitely be a priority for me.

Yes. The one that usually are for ads. The "obi" term is actually a term that is used at used-book shops since they buy and sell used-books with "obi-tsuki" a bit higher than those without.

'bout time. But I'll believe it when I finally see her.

I heard the news at animenewsnetwork, wow, hope it'll not take too long till they release it, and i hope it will be a series(hopefully more than 5 episodes...).

7thMethuselah 2004-03-25 07:01

yeah an entire series would be awesome, they shouldn't have any problem at all comùing up with a story seeing as the manga has over 25 volumes allready. And to all the Peorth and Skuld fans I'd like to say URD OWNZ ALL :heh: :heh:

Izzy 2004-03-25 09:07

w00t, more  Urd-sama and Peorth-sama  I hope its gonna be like 24 episodes

As to the potential length of the series, who knows. There is alot of manga
that can be covered so we can hope for something nice and atleast longer
than thirteen episodes. I doubt there will be much chance to fansub it though.
A TV series for something like Ah! Megumi-sama is bound to get licensed pretty
quickly.

I'm hoping Geneon picks up the US licence. Really liked the animation in Ah My Goddess Movie so I can't wait to watch the new TV series.

Well if they license it it is one of the few things I'll probably buy without having seen it in advance, with such a good manga as backup it is hard to screw up the anime (well not entirely true but at least they have more than enough story in order not to rush things)

Another interesting question is where the anime would start, would they start all over again or somewhere in the middle of the story (since the anime and movie have allready introduced several characters that do not show up in the first couple of manga). One possible solution is that they adjust the story so other characters experience certain events or more characters are present during events. This is the one thing they should not do at all since there are allready enough examples of how tampering with a great storyline can turn a magnificent manga in a very mediocre anime (*cough* planetes *cough*)

I think it would be best if they just leave a message of some kind saying something like "chronologically ova 2 is placed after this episode" but that will be hard as suddenly other character would be appearing in the anime that haven't been properly introduces.

Oh well long rant and it's all speculation since we seem to know close to crap right now :heh:

i wouldn't even consider the first 5 OVAs a "season" in the AMG! storyline...they didn't even approach MANY major plotpoints in the manga

I know there are a lot people who aren't fans of the movie, but I love it and I really think the animation in it is just so beautiful. First time I saw it I was just blown away by it. I know they can't carry off that level of detail through an entire series though.

I think it will be licensed before it hits the air. AMG OVA ,movie, manga have been licensed for years now.

The magazine comes with a free figurine of Skuld!

The article you have been waiting for: Left Page Right Page
