Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge (The Severing Crime Edge)
http://i.imgur.com/XFi6k.jpg
Original creator (manga) : Tatsuhiko Hikagi Plot summary : The story revolves around Kiri Haimura, a boy who loves to cut girls' hair. He happens to meet Iwai Mushanokōji, a girl with long, beautiful hair who is known as the "Queen of Hair." Her hair has been cursed to be forever uncuttable, but Kiri happens to have the "Crime Edge of Separated Cut" — scissors that have the mystical ability to cut her cursed hair. Kiri finds himself protecting Iwai from descendants of murderers wielding "Killing Goods." Note : Hikagi launched the manga in Media Factory's Comic Alive magazine in 2009, and Media Factory is publishing the sixth compiled book volume this week. Sounds interesting. I like this kind of concept, and since I am supposed to like stylish characters' haircuts, I'll have to make sure to check out ! |
Judging from the inclusion of murderers, I would say things might get a bit hairy from time to time.

Still, a haircut anime... why am I not surprised anymore? :uhoh: |
Dat premise...it sounds so ridiculous i just might see it :heh:

I have long been intending to read the manga of this, but I never got around to actually starting it. And now the anime adaptation is announced.
Looks like I stalled too much. :heh: Gotta start reading before this comes out. Or I could just wait for the anime... Anyway, I'm keeping an eye on this title. |
One of my favorite mangas of all time is finally getting an anime... I'm so proud and happy! Along with the long awaited volume 6 coming out in 2 days, this week could not have started off better for a fan like me.
Although I don't really know if the manga has a good place to cut off and end a first season with... maybe if they get to animating all 6 books, I could see it working out, but I'm expecting an anime original ending or possibly even an open ended gateway for a possible second season. Anyways first things (season) first, I've always dreamed of this getting animated by a good studio, so I hope it happens. Don't let me down world! |
I checked the manga but its only 15 chapters translated.
More info about the story please? I haven't read the manga just checked it but the date of last update stops me from reading. its been almost a year from the last update of it. Thus, halts me from reading it. |
Hmmm, I had forgotten all about that manga. It was a unique premise, or at least a unique weapon being used, and I liked the main couple; they were really adorable X03, considering the bloodshed. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to this one.

"Looks at the Author's past works"
Damn... |
Have not read this, but it sounds interesting and a little weird.:eyebrow:
|
Iwai and Kiri are probably one of the cuter and creepiest couples I've seen from a series in a while.
I'll definitely be checking out the anime. |
Read the manga. I enjoyed it.
I will be checking this as well. |
Official website opened
Looks like Studio Gokumi will get it. |
I doubt "fans of long hairs" would watch this.... or maybe the opposite if they give hints on how to have a long silky hair......
|
So studio gokumi is the animation studio? Well thats good. At least its not deen or jc staff.
edit: And its the fate stay night director http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...edge-at-gokumi |

Um... Wow. That doesn't look like what I was expecting from the original art, lol. It's a lot cuter than I thought it was going to look.

PV:

Just watched the PV : it was magnificient. The animation isn't as godly as Oda Nobuna (which was also done by Gokumi) but came close due to the enticing animation. Visuals still aren't on par with the manga designs, but still looks good this time. I'll watch it, expecting it to be a action romance show mixing over-the-top craziness and semi-serious story.
|
You know romance-wise I kept flashbacking to Gosick for some reason when I saw the PV...
|
Nice preview. For some reason I remembered Gosick and C3 while watching it
|
New scans are out.
Any info on who's composing the music? |
Just watched the PV... What a waste if this will bomb...
|
So weird ... but to be honest I have a feeling that this will either be weirdly and wildly successful or abysmally bad ... with no in between.
But I will give it a try, b/c ... well ... why not? Maybe I will check out the manga first though.... |

I didn't even expect the MC's female classmates to be hidden villains, maybe it's just me since I'm a anime-only viewer for this series. I guess I should watch this already in a few days, and more cast members such as Yoko Hikasa, Akira Ishida and Takehito Koyasu are even welcomed as well ! |
That was very atmospheric ... until the vocal music kicked in and killed the mood.

I still want to watch it for the story, but I can't get over how those character designs look. Certain proportions seem off and the animation at times was kind of stiff or awkward... But I'll still give it a shot, if only because I find the atmosphere/mood given off by the PVs pleasing at least.

I see no evidence that this is licensed or picked up by a subber yet - that'd be a shame.
Is it me, or does it seem as if there are fewer shows licensed this season generally speaking? |

AnimeKoi already released the sub but I hope someone better would pick it up.

Wonder if this will follow Arachnid's plot line from the first ep....Hope not. Such a plot line is better in manga form than animated...
I must say short hair suits Iwai much better though |
Spoiler for ep1:
|
I see the tags for the thread, I watch ep 1, I'm REALLY confused as to what we're getting here. I wasn't quite expecting this series, so I don't know how to take this first episode. I'll be watching more as I'm quite curious now.
Is this an action series? A suspense/horror series? A Rom-Com? I really don't know after ep 1. |

This was an interesting start to the series. However, I felt my frustration while watching it right away. The MC starts off wanting to cut the hair of the main girl, yet when it came time to cut her hair, he uses every single other scissor except for the one he was holding in the beginning. That was frustrating to watch, since it was so obvious that he had to use that scissor. Then a whole episode pass by, and he finally decides to use it at the end of the episode to the effect that was expected to happen.
Seriously, that was really stupid on how forced they made it without any logic or reason, all in the name of dramatics and ending the episode in the most dramatic way possible. I really hope the series improves from this point forward, since this type of forced stupidity will make the series really hard to watch. Other than that, the series does have promise as a suspense thriller. I kept wondering if the MC was going to kill the main girl every single time he sees her. Let's hope the story improves from this point forward. |
