Anime that ends w/ world destruction
 

well the tiltle says it all, it is cool to see the entire world lay wasted at the end once awhile. (call me twisted if you may) It is a situation where nobody wins, im kinda sick of good guys always win, or bad guys win for once. Total and absolute destructions and despair is the way to go.

I have watched something that fit the title kinda well (with one or two suvivors)

Saikano-the main characters kinda live, but everything else are dead.
evangelion-everyone turns to soup except for the shinji and asuka

anything else? these are the only ones that i can think of right now. It would be better if there are no survivor at the end, but no more than 5 :p

btw, im watching world destruction rite now, idk if this would fit the bill (probably not :heh:)

Another one I just thought of... not really a series, but some connecting OVAs: Devilman (1987), Devilman (1990), and Amon Devilman Mokushiroku. Everything all goes to hell in the final OVA.

Doomed Megalopolis? I haven't seen the whole thing because it was too distrubing for me... but I've have lots of my friends say that it was just outright smut.

Rahxephon, its quite simulair to EVA in deepness

aaand perhaps X/1999 which involves a battle for the future of the Earth, though it doesnt get destroyed it has humanity's sake involved

Code Geass in a sense(at least up to where it is now, not completely sure on the ending).

i have already watched code geass (waiting for the final ep), rahxephon, x/1999, they are very good shows but i would not consider the endings would suit this category. Thanks anyways. :)

I saw this at video easy and i never heared of it before, i decided to hire it out(save downloads) and holy crap it is AWSOME.

I also liked it, only the end pissed me off. :D:D

There are many series that seem to be heading into the direction of world destruction, but the world gets saved by the heroes (but it may still be in a state of severe ruin)... you make this quite hard.

I can't even think of one and I even searched anidb tags for "world destruction", "apocalypse", "armageddon", and extinction and got no results.
