is it directed by nabeshin? i saw a screenshot of what looks like nabeshin on canned dogs http://zepy.imess.net/july03.htm can anyone confirm or deny nabeshin's directorness of this show? it is my mission in life to watch everything directed by him, yes even gravitation.

It IS a spinoff of Excel Saga, so I don't see why it wouldn't be.

The character in Poemi named Nabeshin is the same one that appeared in Excel Saga.

He is talking about NWKCM, which is a spinoff of Soultaker..

Where is the connection with Excel saga?

Searched a little, and there is no connection with the two, or if there is one, its as slim as a sottilette.

I don't think he's involved IRL, but don't really know. Re the screenshot, Nabeshin has a cameo in ep 4 where he is a director at the anime studio they go to, but goes wild and walks out when they show him the name of the anime they want to make (something along the lines of "Cutie Komugi-tan Saint Muscle" or something, Komugi also wrestles/voices a wrestler in this ep and they are trying to cash in on the fame with an anime ^^).

When Komugi first sees him she says something like people in anime studios really look like people in anime or something like that, also when someone cops a feel she goes all Excel on him (complete with the hardcore still and then wacky animation after) and beats him bloody. I haven't watched through with my dictionary yet, just browsed quickly when the raw came out so take all this with a grain of salt. ^^

nabeshin cameos usualy means he directed atleast that episode. I.E. that Mahoromatic S2 episode with him.

On animenfo there is Nurse Komugi licensed by ADV but i couldn't find it on their website. Does anyone know when it will be released?

There are a few titles they've licensed but are still sitting on.
They can't release everything at once you know.

Oddly some are getting priority over others though...

The Series isn't finished in Japan yet.
Vol. 05 is coming out in March, 2004.

ADV's most likely waiting for Japan to finish realeasing all the eps first.

i had the first two episodes when it was released in Japan and thought it whould be only a special with 4-6 eps at all featuring komugi-chan, but it isn't.
i just watched the beginning of ep 1 so far and that ruled very much. I deleted these eps because i figured out it was dvd rip. Could someone tell me without spoiling if it rocks in the following eps like it does in the 5 minutes i've seen?

Can't wait to see ep 5...... 2 more month.

3 was just a recap epsiode and they throw in some songs in it...4 is just...well if you like saikigake, or intrested in how anime are made...

Well the jokes are still funny...but like ashibaka pointed out...I don't even think alot of people in the US/Canada knows what 2ch is, or what all those ascii means

aside from the 2ch jokes (unless you happen to hang out in the English 2ch board), I don't think it will take off over in the States as much as it did over here...

In many ways, "Nurse Witch Komugi-chan" has reached cult status here...and boosted seiyuu Momoi Haruko popularity due to her mind-melting singing and acting.

It also helps if you know the dozens of anime references it is parodying to

I can tell you what 4ch is (the english version of 2ch).
Pretty famous Image board with lots of in-jokes and hilarious things. The ascii cats for example (as seen in Episode1) are pretty famous there.

My tip of the day is: Stay away from 2ch unless you know what you are doing.
