And this is exactly the part I have never, and will never understand. Why do you must stare at the bottom of screen and thus miss the action? Are you so SLOW at reading that unless you focus on the bottom of the screen, you will not know what the characters are saying?

Frankly, I don't even look at the bottom at the screen - at all. When new line is said, I quickly glance to the bottom, and that's it. Takes less than a second and doesn't take anything away from the enjoyment of my anime. As long as subs are out there, I don't mind not being able to understand Japanese. Also, after you've watched a lot of anime, you'll understand fragments of what is said here and there, too.

While dubs, frankly, they rape the characters and the anime. The dubs never fit the character personalities as they should. Such thing as '' good dub '' does not exist. Dubs take away alot of the original meaning sometimes, as well as lessen the impact some scenes should trigger.

Of course, that's just my opinion. I don't watch dubs yes, but I still do and always will despise the fact that they must be dubbed in the first place. This is the reason why no one bothers to release games outside of Japan in their original audio either, since the games are aimed at people like YOU.

Perhaps I said that wrong, as I personally don't 'focus' on the bottom of the screen to miss the action either, and I always get the gist of what is being said in the same way that you do. And on the same note, over time I too do understand fragments of what is being said as a result of the amount of anime I've watched. (If I really was as slow to read the subs as you make out, I wouldn't have been watching all the subbed animes that I do - it would have been exasperating to me).

Good subbed and dubbed animes are both great in my opinion - but I prefer dubbed (just) because, as I said earlier, it is preferable to hear the anime spoken in my natural language (unless the dub is really bad - and there aren't that many of those kicking about).

I personally feel it's more faithful to the original intention of anime as a whole (namely that you're there to watch anime, not read it.

Wow, that's a lot of stereotypes in one paragraph. How many dubbed animes have you actually watched or are you naturally predisposed to shun dubs?

If you despise dubs so much, pretend they don't exist! Geez, not that hard is it?

Games companies aim games at a wider audience to get as much money as they can out of a game. To appeal to that wide audience, they dub the voices.

That is the way things work in the world - everything is about making the most money out of a property.

It would be useless to argue this further so I will not reply to the other points you made. However, what you said here puzzles me. I get it that they dub games to appeal to wider audience. However, what I do NOT get is how is it so hard and unthinkable to also include the original audio in the game? If they cared so much about money, then they would also include original audio... Even if the people who prefer Japanese audio are minority, the voices are already there, there's no work to be done if you wanted to include them in the release :x
