Both projects will appear at the ANIMATE Ichioshi Bishōjo Matsuri event which will take place in Tokyo on November 20. Other projects to be shown at the event include IS (Infinite Stratos), Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne—!!, Steins;Gate, and OVA ToHeart2 adnext.

There will be a special version of the original Anime Tenchou theme song that will accompany the new commercial footage. Tomokazu Seki is singing as the Anime Tenchou Meito Anizawa character, and original creator Kazuhiko Shimamoto is rewriting the lyrics.

I'm rather hoping this actually is real, though with ANN reporting...

I can foresee a new revolution with this.

Looks great. Anime Tenchou was a really fun guy to watch in Lucky Star, and I wonder how he will be incorporated in the Touhou world. Just the fact that Touhou is getting an anime is making me giddy.

Official Touhou anime? I wonder what ZUN has to say about this.

Another Touhou anime. Though I thought ZUN was against to turning it into an anime series.:heh::eyespin: When's the release date? Now I can't sleep from this excitement. I wonder if they'll use the VA's from the "A Summer Day's Dream".

I don't know what should I say, but I guess I'll watch it nonetheless, since it's Touhou related.

And to be fair, SC worded it the best. Since ufotable animates something, aren't sure what format it would be yet (could indeed just be an ova), but it is official for the first time.

Hmmm....I'm actually not too eager for a Touhou anime despite being a hardcore Touhou fanatic....no idea if they'll screw it up or not...

Ditto, I just really hope they don't screw it up.

Hey mods, is it ok to get rid of the "official in the title? Even though it's animated by a professional studio, I honestly doubt that it will get a commercial release. So it's best not to mislead people into thinking that this will be THE official Touhou anime rather than a small project celebrating something completely different from Touhou itself.

Actually it is Anime Tenchou X Touhou, that should be in the title, and because of the first half I am apprehensive of what it actually turn out to be ... to begin with they ruined a fine poster with the shop's mascot :twitch:

Well.... all I can say is that this should be interesting to see how it unfolds. Anyone know if it's just the characters on the poster or are people like Cirno, Suwako, etc. gonna be in it?
