I guess the artstyle fits the genre. Which makes me wonder next, since Seki-kun doesn't actually talk at all for 99% of the time, who's gonna voice act him?

Here's the staff:

Quote:

Original Work: Morishige Takuma
Direction : Mutou Yuuji
Character Design: Ootake Masae
Sound Direction: Urakami Yasuyuki
Art Direction :Kawai Shinji
Colour Design: Ebina Kayoko
Animation Work: Shin-Ei Animation
It being from Shin-Ei Animation pretty much guarantees it'll be a daytime show.

Wow, Mutoh Yuuji? There's a blast from the past.

I like this manga a ton, but I'm hard pressed to see how it could translate into anything like a full-length anime. I'm thinking 3-5 minutes.

Sackett 2013-09-09 21:12

I guess they could go further with the side characters like Goto who completely misunderstand Seki-kun and Yokoi's relationship.

Who's Mutou Yuuji again? And the manga's material is light enough to be made into a daytime anime, so I'm not concerned.

First animated teaser PV... more or less

Yes indeed. A 3-5 minute short could work very well for this manga adaptation. Though who knows? Maybe a full ep adaptation could work depending on how much the mangaka works with the studio? Part of me actually would like to see an adaptation suddenly fleshing out the characters and suddenly giving a whole 3d story behind them if it was done harmoniously and such! ^^

My question exactly, WHY seki-kun has a VA???

Flower 2013-11-14 12:47

Maybe to make an occasional grunt or "hmph" noise?

You know, anime adaptation added material stuff.... :heh:

Poor Kana Hanazawa :heh:.

Read 10 chapters of the manga; I got bored because it seemed like a one-trick pony that didn't go anywhere. That teaser was also awful - someone tell them that it's not funny if you put cartoon noises saying "HA HA HE'S SO WACKY"; it's like explaining the joke.

The reason why it worked a few times is because the manga is so deadpan.

Because even a mute character still breathes and grunts. See Link from the Legend of Zelda franchise.

Aka_Tsuki 2013-11-19 16:56

The manga is hilarious XD. At least I won't have people staring at me when I burst out laughing in the train...awkwarrrd...

s07195 2013-12-15 04:16

Apparently the anime is 10 minutes long...?

ZabiLegacy 2013-12-15 17:29

You know, I think the question of whether or not he should have a VA is irrelevant. The real question is wether that VA captures the heart and spirit of such a noble character. Considering how much fun he seems to be having in that picture, I will go with a yes on that.
