If I remember correctly he said he'd be working on something in 2012 (without saying a season) and I figured it was exiled from paradise which was announced a while after the interview

edit: oh sorry,it does say october well I guess this could be it or the movie he's working on will be released in october.

He twitted saying something about a television anime, so it's not a movie.

Well ok,now I'm starting to believe since unless a new fall anime gets announced out of left field this looks like it.

j0x 2012-08-01 01:24

it also makes sense that Urobochi will do this kind of anime since he likes twisted stories

and i hope this anime clear the difference between a Psychopath and a Psychotic
since a Psychopath has total lack of empathy about others and thus he is prone on criminal behaviors while a Psychotic has lost touch of reality its like both reality and imagination inside the head/brain is the same

Q: Urobuchi is very busy with the Fate/ZeroMadoka Magica movies and your Toei project Exiled From Paradise. Do you have any plans to go back to writing novels after these finish up?

Urobuchi: Well, the release date for Exiled from Paradise hasn't been decided yet and I'm working on two more TV projects. One will be released in October and the other in January. (turns to Iwakami) Is it okay I said that?

Iwakami: I'm not in a position to say.

Q: You're pretty busy. Can you tell us the titles of the upcoming works?

Urobuchi: There's currently a gag order on the projects.

Other rumors I've heard about Psycho-pass include stuff like:
- Could be a full CG anime
- Lots of action
- Directed by Satoshi Nishimura (Trigun) at a new studio, not Madhouse
- The character designer is supposed to be famous

Who knows if any of it is true though...

Well based on this screencap from the teaser , looks like they will.

And I'm surprised we still have so little info,I figured we'd get an update along with robotics;notes.

Kirarakim 2012-08-01 04:22

I never even thought this might be the Urobuchi anime & hence I was not interested, but if it is written by him it will definitely be on my to watch list.

Reckoner 2012-08-01 04:28

The rumors fit. This is Urobuchi Gen. I'm convinced. Get hyped.

Cloudy 2012-08-01 11:37

I hope the CGI anime bit is a false rumor.

Wonder would we see voice actors and actresses from Butch Gen's works such as Irino Miyu(Phantom) and Yuuki Aoi(Madoka) voicing as characters in PP.

BaKaBaKaOtaKu 2012-08-01 11:43

So maybe this is what Gen's talking about and not Prism Nana. This looks epic though. Totally a must watch for me.

I really don't see why most people hate CGI in anime (I have seen enough hate in Kingdom), no matter how much quantity they provide.
Personally, I think the anime will be done in a Gonzo manner, which means half-2D for the characters, and half-CGI for the rest.

The problem with CGI is that it usually looks terribly out of place, take the Berserk movie as an example of this. Moreover, many people like watching anime for the drawn art and not the CGI which is more fit to things like video games. Then again, Blassreiter did a decent enough job but even then the drawn vs. CGI scenes never did mesh all that well. Keeping it to mecha and things of the sort is usually fine but when you start using CGI on the characters too, many people start to back away. :heh:

We'll have to wait and see.

No.
Most anime nowadays are still drawn by hand, and then scanned into a computer; only colors are digitally produced.
Even if this isn't the case, as it is for Toei and some other studios, they use tablets... would you not consider an image drawn by somebody's hand to be hand-drawn, even if the canvas is a computer screen?

I've amended my mistake. Clearly I was misinformed.

Cosmic Eagle 2012-08-01 18:54

If this is going to include CGI please make it something like Karasu...that one was good.

There's like 6 months that were passed, is planned to air this fall and we still don't even get a word since the announcement. Hope they unleashes everything with the new PV that's planned to be released at Comiket.
