I don't think that's what they're using in Japanese, is the point. I think it's a term the translators used that folks here are reading too much into.

I consider those theories unlikely. The terms he was using simply indicate that he thinks her bloodline is impure. While "mongrel" is used most often for dogs, all it really means is that the creature in question is of mixed or undetermined parentage. And "pup" is just a derogatory statement about her age. He's calling her a bastard child, too young, inexperienced, stupid, and ill-bred to understand things the way an older, more experienced, and properly-bred person (obviously like himself) does.

Since I'm here, the first volume of The Memories of the Sledgehammer manga has been released in the US. While a fair amount of it is in flashback, the manga itself is set three months after the end of the last Dance volume, so it is chronologically a continuation. The Bund is still recovering from the attacks and Telomere's occupation. Many of the fangless died in the fake Mina's attempt to excavate the Cradle under Mount Fuji, including the father of those three children we see semi-regularly. Mina is having trouble trying to run things having lost both Vera as her aide and business manager and Borgiani as head of the intelligence division. Her maids; Nelly, Nella, and Nero; are attempting to fill in for Vera with limited success. No information is given on who might be taking over in intelligence, although I hope that a certain gothloli who was recently focused on in Dive in the Vampire Bund might step into the position.

The biggest focus is on Councilor Gotoh, who resigned her position as abmassador to the Bund due to the issues near the end of the last volume, but thanks to popular support of her and Mina having pretty much saved Tokyo, is now running for a seat in the house. Some anti-vampire fanatics are trying to kill or kidnap her due to her alliance with Mina, and somehow her past and Hama's past together play into all of it.

You know what would be more insulting for the noble vampires if Minas dad was a human that would really the lords of off perhaps enough to attack and kill Minas mom. I say this due to her true form its too humanish while most vampires have monstrous forms especially pure bloods

as for goth loli hmm she might be a good replacement in the intelligence division

Yes it is and actually it is stated rather ambiguously.

犬の様に交わった末子を生した!!
Loosely translated it means that Lucretia crossed with him and gave birth to a dog(like) child.
Edit: Okay less ambiguous than previously stated, he basically calls her a mutt, or a mudblood.

Yorae_paladin1 2013-12-12 21:22

if you played assassin creed 3 and in history the word mutt is used not just on dogs but on people of mixed blood which Mina might be but of what we do not know it can't be wolf since she demonstrated no wolf like characteristics Jamie Colley one of connors assassins said his father referred to him as a mutt due supposedly having a bit of the far east in him.

amtro 2013-12-12 21:46

Yes I acknowledge that, but the comparison is less common and thus gives grounds for suspicion.
And it's only logical that Mina doesn't show wolf-like traits even if her father is a werewolf since female werewolves were vanquished before she was even born 400 years ago.

Yorae_paladin1 2013-12-12 22:08

regardless her true form does not show any wolf characteristics and doubt this a history repeats itself scenario.

Is there a digital version of the Comic Flapper magazine available anywhere?
If so I can buy it and maybe tell you guys what happens.
I went to look for it on Bookwalker, but nothing so far. They seem to host all the manga volumes however, including sledgehammer and dive.
