Spoiler for Episode 10 - Karaoke Senshi Mic Takako:
|
LOL @ room 301
|
Who is the illustrator for ED image this time?
Looks familiar. It is a sad episode for Tsugumi. |
Finally! The karaoke chapter...
Spoiler for ep10:
Is it just me... or did the art in the episode act a little strange this episode... There were a few scenes that felt awkward... |
Not confirmed whether this list is correct or not but this were the songs that they sang inside the karaoke box.I haven't watch yet so i'm not really sure lol.
Ok its not,i'm wrong there..the list below was the list of anime/game where Takahiro Kimura was involved. I don't understand what kind of place is that their in?
|
@cleed -- That's a "karaoke box." A karaoke ("empty orchestra") establishment is a place with a number of private rooms where you go with friends and sing karaoke, that is you sings songs to recorded background music, with a screen at the front showing the words for you to follow. It's a form of entertainment that is popular in Asia but not in the West, for some reason. Maybe because we like to consume and not produce, lol. The establishment provides a menu of food and drinks for you to buy, and charges you for the use of the room.
@stormy -- The ED art was by Kimura Takahiro 木村貴宏, the main animator for Code Geass, and someone called Oukouchi RICCA (大河内RICCA), whom I can't find any info about right now. I was not that thrilled by this episode. The characterization and animation were both a little limp for me. Even Jin breaking in on the Lucky Star gang didn't work for me. Maybe I'm just so sympathetic with Tsugumi that I couldn't take pleasure in an episode where she was so hurt. And I didn't get a lot of the dialogue, so the subs may help. The ep was both storyboarded and directed by Yoshioka Shinobu 吉岡忍, who did the same on four episodes of Lucky Star (3,9,16,23), one of Kanon (4), and two of SHnY (4,6). He also directed ep7 of Kannagi. The animation director was Akai Toshifumi 赤井俊文, an animator who has done a lot of work for A-1, but who has only directed one episode before (ep21 of Nagasarete Airandou). The writer was Kurata Hideyuki, the main writer for the show. |
Thanks , Kaoru Chujo.
But some of the singing is painful, I actually skip them to spare my ears. |

Spoiler for karaoke ep:
It's doubly amusing watching this episode after working in the Karaoke room at a con for a couple years. Goes to show what someone can do when even if they don't have the 'voice' for a song, you can still give a stunning performance. And even a good voice doesn't work out without confidence. |
Watching Ep.10 now but...
Spoiler:
|
After this episode I think Daitetsu is in front of Tsugumi.... make your move soon Nagi before all is lost!

I wasn't paying too much attention to the song titles (combined with my semi-poor understanding of kanji) and laughing too hard. |
That list is completely wrong, all the songs were original ones.

If this means character songs, I'm all in favor of it.
Not to mention the long list that was posted seems to be a list relating to animation and not music. |
My mistake there oy-z
The list that i put there was actually the list of anime/game where Takahiro Kimura's was involved in..i read the post from the Taiwan BBS wrongly. So forgive me >"< No wonder i felt so weird whenever i listened to each and every song that was sang inside the karaoke box. *Edit my post again. *To those who're wondering about Takahiro Kimura..he was the one that did the ED image for this week episode. At least if i got it right. Not sure about Kaoru Choujo mentioning the 2nd name. |

No i mean..i don't have any idea of who that guy is... ^^'''
|
I have no idea why the camera decided to focus on Takako's butt when she was singing. Certainly an interesting choice of angle, but Takako is such a show-stealer that I really didn't mind it.
|
Perhaps the editors think that she has a nice butt... I'm just saying...
|
Nakahara not singing in this episode is quite the travesty.
As for the ending image, given the Geass link, it shouldn't be a stretch that Ookouchi Ichirou could be involved as well? Or maybe they just used his name. I mean, even the kanji is exactly the same! |
Takako had always been endeared to me. This was a great episode with a great Takako moment among many.
I wasn't surprised at the cameos given the director's connection, albeit a controversial one. My gosh! Nagi's song was radical! It was the episode's best moment. |
some unfortunately bad art this episode (which will hopefully get fixed in the dvd/bd release). but the effort put into the karaoke content made up for it IMO.
i shot flames out of my nose when tsugumi sang, and nagi's CM song left me in stitches. but what absolutely made the show for me was takako's sickeningly perfect sugary jpop performance (there better be a full version of this song on the OST/vocal collection!) |
Can't wait for the subs to be released. From a quick read of the comments so far, this looks to be another hilarious episode with some very cute moments from Tsugumi. ;)
|
for those who don't know, the ED song this ep was the supermarket commercial song that nagi wanted to sing during the karaoke.. lol
|
Spoiler:
|
I'm still waiting for Takako x Akiba to happen... it would be legendary.
Takako is still my favorite character of this show. |
This episode is epic..
Spoiler:
|
Man, I just have to comment again.
I can't get enough of Nagi's song. It's among the funniest musical numbers I've seen done. "Mame kue, mame!" "Souzetsu na...iroke". The performance cracks me up! Takako is also quite addictive. |
Yeah, it's seldom that my fanboy mode becomes engaged to this level, but this episode manages to nail it and then some. Time to take off my rational hat and go stream of consciousness mode!
It's been awhile since I laughed this hard and I basically sat there watching this disaster unfold with a big goofy grin on my face the entire time. Everything was just so.... right. Tsugumi wins this episode again with her moeness (no surprise there I suppose), but Takako just had me in stitches with her performance. It's just so disgustingly bad that it goes into the depths of terribleness and back around on the other side back to EPIC territory. Nagi also was outstanding. Of all the things she could have done... she picks that song? Brilliant comedic moment right there. Also, her handling of the sound effects was absolutely first-rate and added a whole lot to the comedy. And the faces. If there was something I really paid attention to this episode, it was the characters' facial expressions. Among the characters, Tsugumi's reactions to Zange's machinations as well as Jin's preferences towards Daitetsu were utterly priceless. Poor girl, she tries so hard, but other people just get in the way. And the ED. It just killed me. Christ, that was a perfect and hilarious way to end this episode! |
I should just about copy zzeroparticle's post, since I had pretty much exactly the same reaction. It was only occasionally ROFL funny, but I was giggling all the way through it. The awkwardness of the whole thing as well just made it so amusing. You kinda get the feeling that (with the possible exception of Takako and Nagi) no one wanted to be there. It was like almost all of them were dragged in there and forced to suffer through other people's embarrassment before getting up and embarrassing themselves. Hilarious!
But, oh man, Takako completely stole the show. That was brilliant! A million awesome points to Takako. And it seems we haven't seen the last of Yamamoto giving Lucky Star the bird. Not only was there the obvious scene, but even the opening scene, with the camera on the closed door to the karaoke room while we hear only the voices of participants inside was a Lucky Star homage (or, more likely, backhand). Although, I still think Kure-nai ep 6 wins the award for best all-singing, all-dancing episode of the year, but this would have to be number 2. On another note... Usually I have no interest in shipping, most of the time it strikes me as blatant fanwank, but oh God I am shipping these two at the speed of light! OTP! Seriously, they are made for each other. http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/6...1337mi9.th.jpg Edit: Two things I forgot to mention. 1. They seriously need to release a full version of that song Takako sung. 2. Shino with her eyes open? They can't tease us with that and not show us. Edit again: Make that three. 3. The comic timing in Nagi's song was impeccable. Absolutely impeccable. |

For some reason, that song is incredibly good :heh: |
I can't stand Takako's song, I skipped quickly before I die of brain damage.

Seriously, I have played the part where Takako sings at least 10 times now! :eyespin:
I want to see a version of the intro with her instead of Nagi! :D :D :D Quote:
