Sakuranbo Syndrome

Drama Romance Seinen

http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=6517

"Progressive Rejuvenation Syndrome." This is an extremely rare disease causing the inflicted person to gradually become younger. The main character of this story, Munenori Agawa, is the only person that could save Rena Amami from this odd disease. Agawa's saliva is the only thing that can halt the disease from making Rena younger, so they must kiss everyday in order for her to survive. This causes an immense amount of conflict and drama between Agawa and his new girlfriend, Sayako Asou. This triangle relationship story tests the capabilities and limitations of human love.

excellent manga, im about halfway through the "3rd" volume and the premise is interesting. the characters are well done and the overall concept (how far you would go for love) is unique.

highly recommend this to anyone who loves romance manga's

Good stuff. Pity that whichever group was translating has decided to stop/take a break. Eh, what can you do but learn Japanese?

Should definitely reconsider it, it's a "hidden" gem among alot of bad romance manga's out there. The plot and character development is unique and interesting...

Not sure what Mysterious Girl friend vibe is either...lol

Hmm...I'm getting closer to the end of volume 3, but isn't it completed?

JMvS 2011-06-06 06:39

This is indeed a hidden gem.

And the whole volume 4 is out.

Khalil 2011-06-06 06:43

The last seven volumes are still untranslated, and it's been a year since the last scan was released. If you're interested, Hobo-1 is working on Kono S o, Mi yo! and they've finished Ore x Yome vol.1, which are both by the same author.

Hmm, I believe there are only 4 "volumes" out, but they consist of a few "mini" volumes in each?

I only say that because each volume is approximately 220 pages from where I'm reading it...

Khalil 2011-06-06 07:07

Well, I have read the releases, so I can tell you with certainty, that it's incomplete.

User68604 2011-06-06 08:36

You're right, there is still so much story that needs to be uncovered.

I'm baffled that translators aren't fighting each other to get the rest of this series done! I'm actually sad that I started this, simply because I was under the impression that the entire series was completed (translating-wise). It seems that there may not even be anyone willing to do the job, either...

Really does blow my mind...people will translate H mangas, but not a true masterpiece in the making like this one...

edit:

Just found the translator:

http://www.jcafe24.net/index.php?PHP...opic=15437.100

His name is Gottheim=

"A little update on Sakuranbo Syndrome.
The first two chapters are already translated, which leaves another six plus the omake. Keep an eye out for Shingeki no Kyojin, the other big manga I'm working on. Once it's done, Sakuranbo Syndrome should be quick to follow."

JMvS 2011-06-06 18:36

Damn, I couldn't help but have a look at the untranslated volume's raws. Now I can't wait to see them translated.

I must say this one's definitely on my reference list for seinen.

LeaD36 2011-06-06 19:42

wow this has 11 volumes FUUU and only 4 translated so far tt

i guess imma indulge myself in looking at meaningless pictures with a wall of japanese text ican't comprehend just to see the developments.
I hope the ending is depicted in pictures and not in writing, cuz i wouldn't get that :S

User68604 2011-09-02 20:14

This series is WAY too good to not have a translator. It's already been out in raw form (the entirety) for a really long time, and nobody has picked it up...

I mean it has a very high score of 8.65/10 @ http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=6517

Does anyone know where I can reach someone?

Shadow5YA 2011-09-02 22:18

A lot of adult series have been left incomplete and need to be translated... like Love Junkies. Or Kono S Wo Miyo.

Hobo-1 released v.5 of Kono only 2 weeks go, so at least that looks like it'll be finished.

Xaturas 2011-09-03 04:23

Will read it when someone will actually translate it again.

Yeah I know, I still hope they will move up their pace with Nozoki Ana.
Still they seem to translate a lot of Sun Ken rock and Btoom, with releases on daily basis.
One of the more active group which I follow atm.
And yup it would be nice to have a wholy translated love junkies, as I kinda miss some light romance comedy atm.
