Plot Summary : Issei Hyōdō, a dim-witted, lecherous second-year high school student, is killed by a girl on when he goes on his first date with his girlfriend Yuma Asano. Her true identity is Leinare, a fallen angel sent by a secret society Grigorie to eliminate dangerous divine weapons. Issei is reincarnated as a devil by his prettiest, superior student (senpai) named Rias Gremory, a Duke of Hell. Issei serves as Rias's low rank devil and fights against the fallen angels.

Somehow, I feel the staffs are pretty appropriate for this, though I'm still on the fence about this one, but hey, no ZEXCS is already winning.

Is this a serious anime or just all-around-jokes-with-some-serious-scenes anime like Rosario + Vampire?

January 2012 is actually considered winter-2011 for Japanese anime season counting.

It's a serious anime with some jokes, as I've seen in the trailer.

Don't know about the personality but the red-haired girl has a really cute design, and so far is to my liking. Although depending on how harem gags go and how the main male is, I might not like this.

the lead is a pure pervert but not a weak kinda character like other harem leads :)

the title made me think of this series is a sequel to High School of the Dead, but no, oh well :heh:

Miyama-Zero is a damn good artist, I own artbooks by him.

But seriously, this had better not be a screwup. Rio - Rainbow Gate was a monstrosity and made a mockery of Koutaro's art.

Shining Wind was a joke and made a mockery of Tony Taka's art.

This title had better not make a joke of Miyama-Zero.

And if they ever tarnish Tomose Shunsaku's art...*rage*

I get that idea from this post where Zexcs has been mentioned. So far that's the last studio I want to here right now.

AniDB and ANN list TNK as the studio doing the main animation.

Hmm, staff listed thus far seem to have worked on 'similar material' mainly, so I guess they won't be incompetent.

My main concern is TNK hasn't been the main animators for much since 2008. Not doubting whether this type of show suits them - judging by what they've worked on previously, it clearly does. I'm worried the budget may be too low to do Miyama-Zero's artwork justice.

unfortunately I can't bring myself to like DxD. firstly I don't read harem series unless they have these components:
1. strong plot
2. 1 main girl
OR they are comedies and have very interesting interactions and the characterizations are very strong (like Seizon).

I read some synopses of the plot for DxD, and it does not seem like something I will read. In fact, I already stop reading Korezon (temporary), because the plot is a little weak for me and I don't have time. I may still watch this though. If I'm proved wrong then I'll start reading it.

Oh great. Another -kinda interesting story- anime that is filled with fanservice. If the main guy is a pervert then it's set in stone that it's gonna be like that. Story will be buried under all the damn fanservice and becomes irrelevant.

.. Yeah, won't be checking this one out. I wish the japanese otakus would stop watching this shit so that they would stop making this crap.

Only if the character designs were actually good in the anime, I could give it a chance.. (Miyama-zero ftw), but this ain't happening. Just look at S;G and the awesome VN art.. and compare it to the anime.. yeah -.-

Kinda have a different opinion on that. Being a pervert [extreme ones at that] is even worse for me. In that case I would take a dumb male so the personality of other females will be flashed out more. Not always true, yes, but some shows are like that.

I can relate to that. Not really a fan of harems ether, but there are some that I liked. Omamori Himari was one of them. I simply loved all the female designs, the characterizations were nice and Himari is one of my all-time favorites. :)

But anyway, I will probably give this show a try.
