If anime fans ever decide to come up with their own dictionary, I propose the following entry :
Let down : see→ Mawaru Penguindrum ep 19.

That was anticlimactic... at best :uhoh:.
With the exception of the first few minutes that made me go "WTH" however. That also somehow made feel terrible, thinking Tabuki was indeed right. Not in the way he proceed but his motives. I've no idea how I'm supposed to stop the rage every time Kanba shows up on screen now :/.

fertygo 2011-11-17 15:00

Ikuhara does it again!

feck this, even with all the preparation that I had to do for my heart.

Tokkan 2011-11-17 15:00

RAGE at this episode.

I think they're just using Kanba. As we have seen, Kanba's faith in them is unbreakable, and until now we were lead to believe it was a good thing that he trusted them so much. Now this may come to bite him in the ass though.

They and Sanetoshi are working together to change the world to what they believe is the "correct path" (complete what they initiated on 1995). Nothing good is going to come of it, of course, and Kanba is ultimately a victim who trusted too much for his own good.

Shouma, I bet, is a key piece in all this. After all what he did shouldn't be possible unless you're "you know who". They probably want to use him in some way or another. He's also a victim of course.

EDIT: PotC: "the penguindrum is your....

I should have seen it before. I'm such an idiot. lol

I could forgive the 8(?) year old Kanba who didn't want to admit his parents were monsters, but a 16 years old who keep supporting them, emotionally manipulated or not, don't attract any sympathy. He is well aware of all the damage, pain and death they've caused and act as their accomplice. Where I come from the three are bound to receive the same sentence in front of a court.

Isn't Kiga group the ones who changed the world (derailed it from fate) and Sanetoshi is working on his side to put it back on trail? I believe Kiga and Sanetoshi have different goals.
Kenzan before to launch the attack said he wanted to put the world at peace.
Sanetoshi is seeking to bring the world back on the right path.

Both are playing God. I trust neither.

No, Kiga and Sanetoshi are the same thing. The little chat between Sanetoshi and Masako on the train in episode 16 left that quite clear. The members of Kiga are the "chosen ones", whom Sanetoshi is using to put the world on "the right track". Whether Kiga knows Sanetoshi is the one controlling them from the shadows, I don't know, but Sanetoshi is their boss, that much is certain.

Right. The way she lean over him must have distracted me ^^'http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/2...2h26m59.th.pngSo yes, could well be what you proposed.
But if PotC knew it, why did she repeated now and then through the serie that they had let go of the penguindrum? Especially when the diary was stolen. What was that? Or is the penguindrum a 2 parts thing : diary+designated user?

I'm going to post this here too:

Some thoughts about the idea of a fated one/soulmate:

Spoiler for fated one:

Okay unlike a lot of people I loved the content of this episode. I don't understand everything without the subs (although I read the summaries so I am a little more informed than usual).

But it's like no I didn't see any of this coming but if I look back it was all set up well. Not to mention I am not going to judge this turn of events until we see how everything unfolds. This was the start of the final novel, so of course it was going to be a game changer.

And like others I am not worried about my ship Ringo X Shouma at all. I don't think the ending is going to be

Spoiler:

My only disappoint is the ending of the 2nd novel with Ringo & Shouma seems to have come to nothing in the anime (sigh).

As for Kanba

Spoiler:

The only thing I didn't like about this episode was the animation was awful. Character designs were totally off and in at least one scene there was barely any movement

Spoiler:

edit: Nina Wolken, Kanba was 13 not 8 when they found out their parents were terrorists. It happened 3 years prior to the start of the story.

Tyabann 2011-11-17 23:02

I'm just laughing because Ikuhara finally did something that I'd actually expect of him and, yup, people are mad about it. :heh:

Lota 2011-11-18 00:30

Well, I can't understand everything without the subs, but from what I did understand, I completely agree with Kirarakim.

I don't understand why all of you are so disappointed, I found this plot twist kind of amazing, not to mention very very interesting (though not completely unexpected).

I also agree about Kanba being used, at least that's what all of it seems like to me.

Tabuki no baka! I feel so sad for Yuri, when she had finally found the strengh and will to move on, and the best person to do it with, he left her... But I bet he will return. At least that's what I'm hoping for ;)

And the animation really was afwul at times. Reminded me of episode 10 a little :heh: Anyway, waiting for the subs to understand everything.
