i was dissapointed with this episode alot.. it wasnt nearly as cool as in the manga, and i was really mad at the fact that Naruto looked all DBZish when he was using the kyuubi chakra in the anime, and that clash in mid air?! WTF! HOW STUPID looking was that? *sigh* oh well..., and they really slacked off on the animation during the kyuubi/kaiten explosion

After seeing this fight..... I regret that I have to recant my statement that I felt Rock Lee could of beat Neji if he had opened the gates on Neji. I love Lee yet. Neji's Chakra appears to equal the Kyubi's. :hmm: I am blown away from the amount of charkra he has. (that photo's in Hunter's post ...it's a classic WTF look)

boy DragonFlame you are HARD to please! If the DBZ (i have to be tied to watch this show) look is that Naruto is confident, then I guess he's guilty.... how does/did differ from the Manga???(then)

Well like I said I think that the scene where Naruto release the Kyubi is a little more cooler in the manga.

But in the other hand the clash in the mid air was also in the manga lol.

i just rewatched it..... and it's the same as the linked manga shot, just in red/orange. Tthe explosion is just gray (perhaps a little boring) poor hinata didn't get to see the end either. The ANBU masks look like they have bunny lips on them, how cute! I wonder if that was fear in Gaara's eyes? Oro woke up also!

Neji has been "weighed, measured, and found wanting" all from the flat of his back!

I just loved the part where everyone eye pop out when Naruto release kyubi chakra. That is just the best. Now time to wait for the sub and chi chi chi.... *gasp* "that is his hand. did he come out" That going to be quite an eps also.

I was happy about the look also. As for one thing it IS NOT the same way they USE to look at him. *that look* that Naruto so detested. I hope things get a little better for him. I would like to think that the village will mature as I saw glimmers when the Ramen stand family treated Naruto to a banquet before the day before the exam.

Well, just as hunter said, I think that the manga was a bit cooler looking, anyhow its still all good. :)

yeah, like a lotta peepo i think the manga version of this fight was alot better. i kinda think they should have included the part where naruto is running around saying "yatta! yatta tte ba yo!!" and stuff like that and the exam guy mentions that, "still has enough energy to run around? he really is something", or something along those lines...

and the episode devotes too much time for weird parts during the fight, but ignoring the dialogue at the end where naruto tells about how he was the worst at school... he brings it up, but it felt alot more emotional in the manga....

It will be in the next episode, Naruto did that right after the fight when all the arena applauds him.

I thought that there was too much time spent powering up. The fight, in my opinion, was good, but didn't need to be a full 20 mins. Kyubi's chakra comes out (red was a little too light colored). It goes back in. It comes back out in a different pattern. Maybe Neji's reluctance to do something was his arrogance or something, but he had quite a few minutes. Also, the punch to finish it off seemed a little more focused on Neji in the anime - I loved that punch in the manga.

i mean ya, it did happen, but it was rather crappy in the sense of it ennding so short! (damn, they never use good fighting fillers on these fights...)

here are some of the crap:

- orange chakra... that was kind of fine with me
- naruto had blue eyes... i want RED
- SO SO animation.

compared to episode 16 or 17.

- naruto's RED chakra ROCKED!
- fantastic animation, there were MORE movements and nice styles
- nice and fansy special effects CG animation interpreted during his morph and punch scene.
- beautiful scene where haku's mask shatters at the same time his mirrors shattered.

if u think i am talking crap, go back and check out ur episodes 16-17, i think u should find the difference. Unless u got diff taste, or u were blinded by the over-hyped episode.

narutos eyes are probably blue because he was in control of the kyubi chakra whereas in the haku fight he lost control which is why he had a killer intent
