Playing video (i.e. anime) on the PSP
Yeah I am not sure if this should be put in this section or if it has been asked, I just got PSP and I wanted to know how to put anime on the PSP memory stick, could someone provide a tutorial on how to do it? I would greatly appreciate any help.

1) Please pick descriptive thread titles. "Could someone help" doesn't tell ANYTHING what you're thread is about
2) Try http://www.pspvideo9.com/ I don't have a PSP though, so this is as far as I can help you... |
the anime needs to be converted to mp4 format then conect your psp to your psp via a usb cable (a digi cam usb cable will work fine) then on your psp go to setting and scroll up to usb conection and press x
a box should pop up on your pc click on the folder then make a new folder in it called MOVIES and place your anime there (making sure you have enough memory on your psp card for the content u want on it) and viola !?! |
Hey sorry I'll remember next time, thanks alot Drake for the help

I've been using 3pg converter, pretty simple program and works good with .avi files.
These are the steps I follow: Convert the file Plug the usb cable from your PC to PSP Goto your removable drive(PSP) Copy/move the converted file into "MemStick:\PSP\MP_ROOT\100MNV01\" Disconnect the usb cable and the movie should be under the movies category in the PSP. Note that in order for the PSP to detect the file, you'll need to rename your file to "M4V*****.MP4" replace the "*" with any numbers, example, "M4V12345.MP4". Spoiler:
|
don't forget that:
- you'll need a version a quicktime intalled (not quicktime alternative) - pspvideo9 encodes the video directly into the 16/9 format of the psp, not 3gp (usefull for 4/3 video files) - 3gpconverter is faster than pspvideo9 - 768kbit/s is way enough for many videos, if you want to save some space :) - both applications rename the files correctly so that the psp recognizes them. but the original name of the video will appear on the psp |
Yea, I've heard good stuff about PSP9 too, there's also a new program similar to PSP9 which is jMEmc which I've yet to try. I will try them later mainly cuz I'm to lazy to goto my PC and connect my PSP to my computer but jMEmc looks promising.

video playback on the psp
first and foremost, i absolutely hate technical stuff ..
secondly, i've got a nice psp lying around with a 1gig mem stick.. so i try different forums to get me around putting an mpeg-4 file into my psp and getting it to be recognised..which i did..eventually now, putting photos is easy, and i love it. music as well..but videos..now that's just cruel. i use isquint for the mac, and it is pretty customizable. so please lend a hand for dear old me, tell me what bitrate i should use, no. of frames per second, and every intricate detail i would need in order to change the "unsupported file" into a supported file :p by the psp. and i thought all mpeg-4s are the same. |
Try ffmpegX, i think there is a guide on their homepage as well,
explaining how to convert files into psp usable mp4. |
An explanation of the difference between at least some of the different MPEG4 parts can be found here: http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost...0&postcount=21
A more detailed (and technical) explanation can be found at this wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-4 |

FFmpegx is just a gui for mencoder/mplayer,
which means you need the binaries for mencoder/mplayer, just read the stuff on their site. However the gui is a shareware, but other than the reminder screen i think it is fully useable. Just tru it out and follow the guides on their site. |
got it done finally!
i'm using pspware for the moment, and i haven't registered. at least the developers was sensible enough to just limit transfers in the unregistered version and not have a trial period (i think so anyway) besides, it doesn't matter that i can only transfer 5 movies at a time, 1 movie takes about an hour to convert anyway :p thanks guys |
New version of ffmpegX has the "Use PSP atoms" and an easy PSP H.264 preset that will create PSP compatible files every time, btw. You might look into it. It's version 0.0.9v.

Converting to PSP
Just got a PSP for my B-day and I was wondering how would I go about converting the anime we dowload so I can watch them on my PSP? :)
|
You could use a software called PSP9. Its here: http://www.pspvideo9.com/
|
Here is another site that you could find useful (page doesn’t load sometimes, just keep reload it until it does):
