A bit of a mixed blessing, Bakemonogatari getting its own sub-forum, but time will tell in the end, I guess.

Will post my impressions of Episode 6 and other observations later.

I thought the episode was fairly normal, but that's coming from the highs of the last episode. To be fair, it is a set-up episode and hopefully the one week break works to the production team's favor. (in getting their stuff together)

Sephiroth_760 2009-08-12 08:59

yep
a normal episode
but still some kind of funny
hearing Senjougahara saying things like we're lovers but still not expressing anything on her face or changing her voice xDD

A good episode. The dialogue at Hitagi's place was fun as always, plus there's something inherently cool about that room. Araragi getting brutally beat up came as quite a shocker, leaving me anxious to see what'll happen next. Like the others said, it's probably (and hopefully) a set-up for another great episode.

By the way, those birds flying up and down and Araragi's lock of hair - what exactly are they supposed to represent (if anything)?

In Japanese culture, the blue bird will bring you happiness. That's why all of them fly away after Senjougahara changes to her psycho mode. :heh:

Ah, so that's what it is...thanks, that never would have occured to me.

This ep' left me a mixed feeling.
In fact it points the main flaw of the show (and as the same time, its main quality) : Senjohara.

I mean, like the Joker in Dark Knight she really steals the show and that makes all the moments she is not on the screen less entertaining if not boring. I have never felt that way while watching an anime.

Quite weird, I admit.
:heh:

yep, I was confused at that scene xD
one second earlier, araragi was beaten up by some guy (I guess everybody can guess who it was xD) and then, she comes up, seeing him bleeding and lying on the ground but still not expressing something in her voice or on her face xD

Well , all was already said in the generic discussion but i re-say it ! Great Episode ! Damn the end leave us a Cliffhanger XD

Hitagi, what an ice queen :P.

I can't wait to see next episode though, hopefully hitagi will show a few more hints of emotion

Master Chibi 2009-08-12 20:30

This show is sex.

rocket 2009-08-12 20:30

Much better pacing than the beginning of the previous story arc!

Happy now. (*^_^*)

This is somewhat crude, but Araragi's hair is a penis. It straightens up when he gets excited and wilts when he gets turned down. Seriously. This series seems to be using it as a more subtle version of the classic anime nosebleed.

Edit: On second, you can think of it a bit more generically than that if you like. Perky equals perky and droopy equals droopy.

wow good episode, hitagi show to all what araragi is a "lucky guy".only he can resist a girlfriend so special.araragi is goin to be not only a great guy, else a hero if is capable of harmonize his relation whit hitagi.

Magin 2009-08-12 22:07

One of my favorite parts of the episode- when he told Hitagi "Long time no see" after the attack... maybe it was because he knows that the damage will heal, but for him to be able to calmly greet her like that (and of course her acting indifferent to his injury as well)... I don't know if that would qualify as badass or not. Then again, we are talking Araragi here, who seems to deal with this stuff all the time...

fish eric 2009-08-12 22:14

Wow. we got our own subforum.

This ep was ok, I am sure it is like the first part of the Hatchikuji arc where it is important to story.

*sigh* want to watch ep 7

Karlson 2009-08-12 22:32

Damn...that initial first punch looked...horribly painful

Quite the cliffhanger ending we have here. Not much else for me to say I've really enjoyed watching this one much like the rest of series thus far

Oh and nice to see it get it's own sub-forum btw :)

I didn't know that, but I now remember seeing blue birds is animes before. Something to look for from now on.

The arowana is considered good luck in China. If you come across one make sure you treat is well.

This episode has made me realize that (so far) I enjoy Hachikuji and Kanbaru more than Senjougahara.

The relationship between Hachikuji and Araragi is a bit touching, considering Hachikuji's condition, and Kanbaru seems like a funny character when she's admiring Araragi.

That, and the relationship between Araragi and Senjougahara feels just awkward to me.
