Ms. Unemployed 34 Year Old

34 Sai Mushoku-san by Ikeda Takashi (Sasameki Koto) PLOT: See title. This is just a slice-of-life comedy about the daily struggles of a 34 year old unemployed woman -- looking for work, dealing with a limited budget, finding a reason to get up in the morning. In some ways this is like Watamote in that the story focuses on a single character who hardly interacts with anyone else and struggles over simple, every day problems, though thankfully it's nowhere near as depressing. And just as Watamote rings true for people who've suffered from social anxiety, so too is this identifiable for anyone who's been unemployed for an extended period. |
I've just read it and I kind of like it. You know it's hard to find no nonsense slice of life these days but I think it may turn some people off because literally nothing happens just like in everyday life...:heh:

I'm reading this though, I find it interesting however. Though it's as interesting as checking out a manga just because it has great illustrations of countryside backgrounds. Which is, to me, is a lot of credit. :heh: |
