Saw the episode on TV just now. Well, it still has bits of fan service but definitely more tame than the manga.

As for this show, it will be 1-cour of 12 episodes.

So we've got dungeons + cute girls/Harem like DanMachi, Great Sage like Reincarnated as a Slime (except an old dude instead of Megumi Toyoguchi) and Noble politics like 8th Son :eyespin:.

It's nice to hear Ryota Ohsaka and Yui Horie in something again. Funnily enough, we have Hocchan playing a busty blue-haired lady when she was also the voice of Fumino's mom in We Never Learn :heh:.

You'd think Noir would be your typical pure-hearted adventurer until he starts trashing his dad. I am also convinced he didn't still have a headache before his last kiss with Emma. Plus he seems totally comfortable taking advantage of his sister Alice being a big brocon for some intimate sibling bonding :innocent:.

Having an ability that works when you make out with girls and life points that can be restored through intimacy...not without its perks, I'd say ;).

Emma is Noir's cute, bubbly, childhood friend who is very obviously into him as more than just a friend, whether it be the when she first suggests they kiss to help him with his abilities, wearing a dress that shows off her cleavage when he's around, or when she drops her potential job security to become an adventurer with him. I'm definitely getting the sense that she's the main girl of the ladies in the series when it comes to prominence and her relationship with Noir, and I'm rooting for Emma to get closer to Noir moving forward :).

I feel bad for Olivia that she's been stuck in that dungeon for 200 years until Noir came, but she still seemingly can't free herself from those Death Chains. Will Noir find some way to free her? Not that seems too bothered by it now that she has someone to talk to, but that might be because she already lived it up on the outside when she was free as basically a hedonist, powerful, adventurer :twitch:.

I kinda get where Noir was coming from in trying to shrink Emma's boobs to make her feel better physically...but I don't think any girl would appreciate getting their boobs downsized without their permission, let alone the fact that they probably would prefer to have boobs to being flat as a board (not to mention her crush outright saying he prefers them big) :mad:.

The Ending was pretty nice, showing Noir and Emma growing up together (I kinda wish she'd kept her hair long) as well as the rest of Noir's future Harem. Lenore's not in there, so I guess that team doesn't last long past this episode. I also love that shot of them gazing out into the sky with Emma's breasts resting on the column :p.

Looks like we're meeting the next girl, the guild receptionist, in the following episode :cool:.

My kind of show, Emma is totally waifu material. A childhood friend who is boin boin and also the FMC? When was the last time that ever happened in an anime? :heh:

First kiss was with the childhood friend that is also the female protagonist? I might be wrong but I believe that rarely happens in harem series. If anyone knows other series that has had this happen, please list some! For those that the web/light novels, does Noir get to actually go full lewd with his harem one at a time excluding his sister, and if so, is Emma is his first? Were I am Noir and Emma was willing, I would be getting as lewd with her as often as possible, including pregnancy.

If it happened, I think it would've had to have been in a visual novel adaption :eyespin:.
I was half thinking to myself whether Olivia might count as a "stealth member" of the Harem...she seems to enjoy Noir's company but might not be thinking of him romantically. I'm almost surprised the telepathy involved their foreheads touching and not more kissing :heh:.
Considering the Ending shows close moments with Noir and the rest of his Harem, I think it's pretty reasonable to assume he'll get chances to kiss and lewd all of them at some point :p.

What kind of second floor trap was that anyways :heh:? Olivia seemed to be a total monster here herself. The universe must have had something against her to get stuck in that place for 200 years. Also shouldn't it be possible for her originally or Noir presently to edit the chains so she can be freed without dying?

Anyways, Emma is pretty darn sweet. The level of into her childhood friend is through the roof. While he doesn't seem to get it (being a harem lead) he doesn't seem disinterested in her either. I'm certainly pulling for her even if the harem inclusions are likable in their own right.

Kind of refreshing in some ways that the MC actually does things. Be it fighting his own battles or making some moves. Sure the LP excuse is there to help him along, but he went with the kissing thing even before that entered the picture.

Some shows of this type can be utterly terrible and uninteresting. But this was actually fun. It may not be top tier, but I want to keep watching :).

Sorry to say I can't think of any. Especially since she's apparently always been there. In my experience if the childhood friend hasn't been missing/absent or thoroughly estranged, her chances of being Main Girl are slim to none. Big point for the show for me though. Just wish Noir had said he likes small boobs, then I'd have possibly been able to enjoy that (in my opinion) much nicer figure.

Well, Winry in FMA:B is busty, a childhood friend, and FMC though that is not a harem show!

Yeah that's kind of the rule. Without some manner of extra stats (like rivalry/hatred, or a long separation), a childhood friend's chance of winning decreases drastically with every rival. In Winry's case there really weren't any rivals to speak of, so she won by default. Even just one rival makes it quite unlikely. In a harem it's almost bizarre. Of course sliding scales are never absolute. Here's hoping this one defies the norm.

But editing things has an LP cost associated with them. Even simply deleting the skill from that monster would've cost Noir 4000LP. Chances are those chains, if they can be deleted, boast a ridiculous LP cost.

I haven't read the source so I don't know if it was mentioned there and the anime just decided to skip over it or what.

Let's hope that she won't fall prey to goblins instead.

I was a little worried about this anime turning into a sinfest, but I was pleasantly surprised so far. Kissing a girl who asks you to, and hugging your little sister, is pretty family-friendly. If I understood correctly, each of the girls will represent one of life's earthly pleasures, so one of them will probably be an expert on food and one on money? Given that he's broke and in dire need of cash right now, I guess the receptionist in the next episode will be the incarnation of Greed, and the third girl the incarnation of Gluttony. Kissy friend is obviously Lust, although hopefully they'll continue to keep it tasteful, lighthearted, and funny.

I saw a theory online that destroying the Death Chain's would require an absurd amount of LP.

It might be why Olivia hasn't just done it herself considering how overpowered she is.

Could also be why she's trying to make friends with Noir. She acts remarkably cheery. Maybe she's trying to use friendly chitchat to slowly boost her LP until she can survive the overwrite. Not like she can do anything else to boost those points.
