2 girls(highschoolers) beating the shit out of each other? too lame.

I've never seen 2 girls go at each other and I've known some crazy girls in my life. Not in school or a club or drunk in a party, I have seen them push each other or throw stuff like glasses or ice but never have I seen 2 women like taiga and sumire. I know it's an anime and it's fiction and all that but I just hope they would have toned down the fight part. I was very disappointed when I read the bloodbath in the light novel and even more disappointed when I saw this episode and both girls ending up like Rocky Balboa.

I could imagine how it went, since I read it in the light novel as well. I am currently watching the uploaded raw, but I have to wait for subs later.

In any event, girls getting into serious fights is nothing new. I think you're probably uncomfortable, and I am taking some license here, because you've never seen such a thing. I have. I went to all Girls Catholic schools...there's not much I haven't seen girls do and girls can be dirty fighters. I've seen girls beat other girls with a public telephone mouthpiece. I've seen girls gang up on other girls and beat them, not slap them...beat and kick them around.


Not to mention, I think girls should not be messed around with because they're also known as dirty fighters. I do come from New York City...so I guess we're different here...but it was all girls Catholic....girls are pretty crazy and I've seen a lot. So it's not surprising if they attack each other. So in reality stuff like that does happen and in school.

Everything was just where it was supposed to be as in the novel, and as an adaptation, JC staff did an excellent job. The first half was standard stuff, but the second was pretty intense, both physically and emotionally. You can almost feel the anguish in Taiga when she realized she did all that work to have Kitamura announce to the whole school that he liked someone else. When she slumped to the floor, you can hear her say, "What the hell was I doing all this while". And finally, some real action scenes, although I would say it stuck a bit to closely to the novel.

Sumire was quite a hit this episode. I'm not a fan of her straightforward ways, but what really got to me was how her brick dam of a face finally broke and gave way to the flood of emotions dammed up inside. Its like how soft plastic will only bend when hit and how tough, fragile glass will shatter.

I really think the artists really got the feel of the light novel to a tee. I mean the feelings and expressions on the faces of the characters was classic and on point. I imagined this in my head and the similarities were great. Definitely made it come to life for me.

I haven't read up to there yet. By pm would be fine.

I have no clue why they cut the second scarf scene, there was clearly a place for it in the episode and it acted as both a nice call-back to the previous incident and acts as a connection between him and her.

Besides that they did a good job of condensing the resat of the important scenes, although I would've loved to of seen Taiga kicking the shit out of Kitamura in the flashback.
