check out this dude's legs, do they look like a guy's legs to you.

Miko Miko 2008-02-20 13:41

Why is that a 'real life trap' ?

:uhoh: I don't know if i get this, but basically this guy wearing girls clothes and has long hair...

So what..?

Dxon 2008-02-20 13:44

Is that a guy?? O_O

Omg.. At first glance I thought it was a girl.. :O

I get it with the real life trap. They want to be a girl but are boy and vice versa..

Vexx 2008-02-20 14:57

"trap" is a term only used by people who think they're being misled by appearances. Some people get the gears in their brain stripped when they discover they were aroused :) :)

A guy who dresses quite well as a girl (or character) could be anything from a transgender candidate (Seiko in Lov*Com) to a transvestite (someone who routinely dresses in cross-gender clothing) to simply someone who likes to cosplay and Does It Very Well. It doesn't convey any information about sexual preferences by itself. :)

The linked website has some pretty amazing cosplay (though it all appears to be "not at a convention") ... this person should hit the cosplay circuit :)

WanderingKnight 2008-02-20 14:59

Eh, sorry, perhaps I'm lost in the subtleties of the English language, but you didn't know transvestites existed?

Deathkillz 2008-02-20 15:01

Well...I fell for the trap :upset:

*Goes whimpering in a corner*

But that is some "talent", if I may say so :p

Avantoe 2008-02-20 15:02

Not often you see a person like that, at first thought i really thought it was a girl. But hey, at least he does it well ^^

Dxon 2008-02-20 15:04

I think everyone thinks at first it's a girl. :D

Miko Miko 2008-02-20 15:04

oh ^_^

lolol. He does look very much like a girl.
Sorry I misunderstood at first :heh:

Dxon 2008-02-20 15:08

No sorry's. It's his fault. :heh:

Vexx 2008-02-20 15:08

I'll make a "sweeping generalization" and opine that certain Asians and Indians seem to be able to pull this off more convincingly with less makeup than European or African gene pools.

I kinda agree with you.

EXEs 2008-02-20 15:12

Oh lawd, I fell for it, AND I thought he looked attractive.

Dxon 2008-02-20 15:12

True. Since their face is more of same. Man or woman.

You also thought he was attractive!? Geez.. I was so embarresed that I nearly pooped all the colors of the rainbow! :heh:

esfir 2008-02-20 17:08

i guess i was the only one who knew that was a guy right away.

i wonder what this says about me.

teachopvutru 2008-02-20 17:33

Ouch... I thought it was a girl at first glance, too, although he doesn't look as girly in some of the pictures in that link.

Not sure about Indians, but I quite agree with Asians...

Thentus 2008-02-20 17:37

Oh wow :heh: I totally fell for the trap.

But in some of those pictures you can clearly see he is a guy, the face is a huge hint and you can tell. That's either really amazing or really screwed up.

The "jyosouko[?, I'm hoping that's the right pronunciation] (女装子)" community in Japan is much bigger than what one would imagine. Most of them are reluctant to show their faces, but some have no qualms about it. I was a little freaked out when I first discovered this whole community a year back via a youtube video a friend sent me through MSN, though I have to admit some of these cross-dressing dudes look even better than gals.

Not going to post any link seeing many of mine are a little NSFW.

Well... doesn't he still look attractive? :) Lets face it, he's done a great job at the image he presents. I'm thoroughly hetero and it doesn't bother me to say that.

Moral of the story I suppose is if you have specific tastes in what you actually hit on, don't go picking up any pretty thing you see in a bar :)

(I can't believe I'm using my brief time outside my pile of work to post in THIS thread. I have much more important threads to post replies in, but it's this or nothing at the moment, I guess.)

I think his point was that is amazed to see a CONVINCING transvestite. They certainly are more common in East Asia. I have seen frighteningly convincing South Koreans...

What do I think?

Even though...
- I think that people with the need or compulsion (as opposed to simple curiosity or ) to cross-dress have issues that need addressing, whether they be psychological or biological.
- I cannot stand traps. Vexx had his analogy of gears in the brain being stripped dead-on. It's just a common courtesy for your fellow man. If there was a courtesy scale with 1 being buying lunch and 10 being hiding goatse links, it'd be a 7.5 to an 8! Does any one remember the Man Law commercial series? This should be one!

I freely admit that...
- It's DANGED good cosplay.
- I can easily see how a man with loneliness and a healthy interest in women or a man with curiosity about gender experience combined with a face and body to pull it off and access to women's clothing would do this. But going with the "courtesy to your fellow man" thing, it should never be either discoverable or revealed!
- I find poor, broken Makoto's adventures as Mako-chan to be the most hilarious part of Minami-ke.

Of course, religious people tend to shudder at much cross-dressing ([url=http://www.beki.org/crossdress.html]the exact scope and nature of such prohibitions being long-debated), but I figure there are more natural reasons for the aversion. I guess THAT discussion, though, might be left for the religion thread (another thread I'll get to when I can get away from work). :)

Amen to that! Good advice whether or not you're worried that the she's a he, or he's a she... or that they are "all together" (goo goo g'joob).
