Quote:

Clumsy Arashiyama is a girl with a love for mysteries and a knack for getting into trouble. She works for an old lady’s lackluster maid café in a small shopping district. The cafe is largely unsuccessful in attracting customers aside from Sanada, a regular and one of Arashiyama's classmates (who has a secret crush on her). One day Arashiyama’s clever friend Tatsuno is invited to the café, and, upon seeing the miserable state of things (and Sanada, whom she has a secret crush on), decides to work there. Don’t miss the crazy antics of Arashiyama and friends, mismatched love stories, and all the hilarity that is created as a result, in Sore Machi.
Mangaka: Ishiguro Masakazu

Genre: Seinen, Comedy, Drama, Mystery, Romance, Sci-fi

I think this was mentioned in the Arakawa Under the Bridge thread, in relation to a Shaft staffer's blog, but this is going to be Shaft's outing for the summer. That it has a girl named Arashiyama working at a cafe is merely a nice coincidence.

I started reading the manga today and i must say im pretty surprise their gonna be an anime about it

SHAFT have had two shows airing in the same season in the past, so it's nothing new.

But yeah i've been hearing October 2010 a lot, so i believe that's when it'll air.

wow, a double season! thats good, they're making up for missing summer. im just worried if they can pull it off or not.

Actually, it looks like AIC is handling the show instead of Shaft, at least according to recent info.

really? that blows.... where did you hear this?

Midonin 2010-07-29 16:11

That's what the sources I did have were saying, but upon further research, I can't confirm who's animating it.

redgrnbluylw 2010-07-30 09:31

Midonin, you might be right. it says that on fansubwiki.com, and there's even a page for it:

http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/soremachi/

Then again, i'm hoping that its not true! >.< I'm all for shaft animating this.

Actually, I consider stuff like that link to be my primary source, since it's the official website. Yet it currently lists nobody animating it. Fansub Wiki is a secondary source at best.

Love the music.. and Shaft seems doing great for this title. Anyway can't comment much about it for now, but will do once the series starts airing this Oct.
