Spoiler:

Midonin 2011-05-16 22:30

Further ruminations on the staff, if you don't mind.

The main writer for this series, Shinichi Inotsume, has worked with Keiichiro Kawaguchi on many projects before. The first season of Hayate (one of my favorites), Zettai Karen Children (ditto), basically, they're a team. But Inotsume has also done work on Madan Senki Ryukendo and Tomica Hero Rescue Force, two of the most unrelentingly silly, positively absurd, packed with awesome toku works to ever exist. Which, of course, are some of my favorites.

Not only am I drawn to a certain style of comedy, I'm drawn to a certain guy's style of comedy. This guy's. And since he's writing Sket Dance, it's only natural I'd be drawn to it.

Spoiler for 7:

This totally shot up the preorder rankings on Amazon, currently @ #21. It was in the 60's after Episode 6 but 7 shot it right up. It is very cheap though, Price: ¥ 932 whereas say Gintama S2's first Vol DVD is Price: ¥ 3,619.

So while Sket Dance Vol 1 is well on track to do over 5k (might be near 10k) I'll like to see the full priced volumes from 2 onwards rank well on Amazon.

Well, that's because it has _1_ episode on it.

Plus copies of the flash shorts you can see on the official website and a pack-in CD, though, so it's not such a bad deal actually.

Yeah I figured it was only one episode, heck I remember NANA Vol 1 was sold absurdly cheap (Y400? Y500?) and did 60,000+ while the rest of the series was around 8-10k.

Is the pack-in cd the song they played in the Corner at the end of episode 6?

The CD has a mini drama, a full size of a BGM from the Jump Super anime tour (Phantom the S.K.T.), and Bossun's character song (probably the same one from the first flash anime they put on their website).

Spoiler for ep 7:

TheGeekHuntress 2011-05-19 13:53

Such a sweet episode. I actually teared up!

LKK 2011-05-19 15:15

Ep 7 was a surprisingly touching episode. Still funny, but heartwarming at the same time.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Rumi's voice is totally off!

Personally i think that Kashiwagi Yuki fits Rumi quite nicely. & from what i can find, it's her first role as well.

Another fun episode. Bossun was just completely helpless in the pretend date skit. Liked the little addition with his mom and sister. Also guess they thought the bike part would have been over the top and omitted it...

Genesis is going to be a hoot, but they keep bouncing over my favorite ch 14...

I feel Rumi's voice should sound younger and be more high pitch, and it somehow feels like it lacks emotions.

I could tell right away from the tone of her voice that she was a newcomer. They're usually easy to spot.

Speaking of voice actresses, I really liked Misaki's voice. Does anyone know who voiced her?

Pellissier 2011-05-20 05:26

A wonderful episode indeed. Even better than last week's.

Not a newcomer, but not exactly renowned either. Takamori Natsumi (高森 奈津美) , she was Mei in Yumekui Merry.

Kanon 2011-05-20 16:41

^Thanks. As I thought, I had never heard her before. Hopefully, I'll get to hear her again in the future.

kujoe 2011-05-20 21:05

I actually don't mind her voice, and I think it sounds quite distinct amidst the usual kinds of female voices you hear nowadays. It doesn't sound heavily stylized, but more natural to me.

Yeah, episode 7 is nice but...

Spoiler:

Anyway, I had the same thought during the scene. It's going to be a bit tough to clean all of that up afterwards.
