Kuroshitsuji Season 2

Hmm this is interesting...taken from the Kuroshitsuji comm courtesy spacexat

New young master and butler... No sign of Ciel or Sebastian...

Out in July.

edit:

The preview shown had the new butler "Claude Faustus" (クロード・フォースタス) serving tea for his master. He will be voiced by Takahiro Sakurai 櫻井孝宏. He called his young master "your highness", I didn't catch the name for the master but he will be voiced by Nana Mizuki 水樹奈々. There was no mention of any other characters but they did say it will air in July.

Im...shocked really. As much as Im glad to hear TakaSaku will be voicing the new butler, Kuroshitsuji with out Sebby and Ciel is just...weird.

Comments?

Ill add any news I find but so far not even ANN has a listing for this.

Btw I renamed the other thread Kuro Shitsuji Season 1 as too avoid confusion.

^ WHA-?

No Ciel and Sebastian? How are things gonna play out anyways?

Now I don't know how excited I am for S2 any more... With no Ciel and Sebby, things won't feel like Kuroshitsuji...

You're right, it's pretty shocking.

Echoes 2010-01-31 20:22

Heh, no Ciel or Sebastian? I'm going to miss the two; I really am. Maybe they'll pop up.

Faustus huh... "subtle."

White Manju Bun 2010-01-31 21:09

Im guessing itll be totally original material though I have no idea where theyre going with it. Since TakaSaku is the butler Im watching but Im gonna try not to compare it to the orginal, just another "chapter" I guess in the saga.

wandering-dreamer 2010-01-31 21:13

Weird, maybe they're trying to turn this into a whole franchise? I'll try it out but this is odd.

Guardian Enzo 2010-01-31 22:29

If this is true, it's certainly odd that they would use Sebastian and Ciel in the S2 promo art.

I guess at that point the creation of two new main characters wasn't decided yet.

I really don't know how i feel about this. Guess i'll just have to see it for myself first before i pass judgment.

Seems like a spinoff, not fit to be stamped with a "Season 2" label, but perhaps with a unique subtitle (Another Butler, etc.). As an anime original, this could be really hit-or-miss. If it is anything like Ga-Rei Zero then that'll be great.

As for the main story, I would like the series to be completely remade when the manga is finished/almost finished, like with Fullmetal Alchemist.

...

I mean, I love Sakurai Takahiro...but this is just weird.

(the master's name is アロイス・トランシー, probably romanised as Alois Trancy)

Shiroth 2010-02-01 07:38

It'll be interesting to find out if this new story takes place after the end of the first or not. If it does and we see Ciel, then we know then that we're supposed to treat the original end for the first season as never happening. :heh:

musume_no_hoshi 2010-02-01 10:19

NANA-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN. No I am NOT complaining at more Nana. We already had Mayaa...and now Nana-chan? God I really need to watch the first season :heh:.

/is very excited and fell off her chair

Is Nana trying to gather a larger female fanbase? Pretty Cure and then this?

That's what I was thinking.

Has Nana Mizuki ever voiced a male character???

I'm pretty sure they'll give it an appropriate title when everything comes together to then Ill change the thread title but yeah you think Kuroshitsuji you think Sebby and Ciel.

The girl who posted this to the comm was obviously at the panel when this was announced and she said OnoD was visibly upset that TakaSaku was voicing the new butler, I really think he liked voicing Sebby. If what she said is true it doesn't appear we'll see Sebby at much if at all.

I agree this is gonna be hit or miss, when its finally out I'm probably gonna have to view it as something completely different so I don't compare it to s1 (which I'm sure I still will...)

She voiced Wrath from the first FMA series (I have no idea whether it's a he or she, but I think Nana-chan would be using this voice). She might use her Touma voice from Minami-ke too. She'll get the job done, but it's not going to be amazing. There are definitely seiyuus that can probably do a better job, but Nana's name is good promotion for the show too I guess.

Kuroshitsuji would also be a decent promotion for her, since it has a large female fanbase and isn't otaku orientated. I am currently looping Live Fever again for the nth time, and all her fans are male...at least most of her obessive fans are male.

I'm surprised you haven't already.

Guardian Enzo 2010-02-01 14:18

I have to say that I'm wary about this, to put it charitably. It's very hard for me to imagine Kuroshitsuji without Sebby and Ciel. 100% anime original is scary. I'll certainly give it a shot, but my hope was that we'd see something a la FMA that was more faithful to the manga. Of course, as the manga is still ongoing that's problematic.

felix 2010-02-01 16:55

Is it possible we get demon maid this time? Or princess master would work too; would be interesting to see demon/master love relationship.

Considering what I watch usually, it's a bit odd I haven't watched this yet (I haven't seen Pandora Hearts either too, that's next on my list). I actually bought a Kuroshitsuji poster already, since I'm expecting myself to like this (for whatever reasons) after I have seen it. :heh:

Guardian Enzo 2010-02-01 18:09

It's official:

The official homepage for the Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) anime franchise has announced that the series’ upcoming second television series will revolve around a pair of new, original characters: Alois Trancy and butler Claude Faustas, played respectively by voice actors Nana Mizuki and Takahiro Sakurai. The character designs for both new characters were drawn by Kuroshitsuji manga creator Yana Toboso, but neither character originates in the original manga. There’s been no word on whether the stars of the manga and first TV series, Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis, will appear in the second anime series, which will premiere in July.

Shiroth 2010-02-01 18:14

I at least like that the characters are designed by Yana Toboso, though you do have to wonder what she thinks about the project, and if she'll have anything to do with the script of the new series.
