Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait.

Isn't this the guy who drew that Tsukihime doujin which is the origin of that infamous "A cat is fine too" meme?

Good god, I was just looking at his site the other day while browsing through that wiki on 4chan memes, and next thing you know his other stuff gets made into an anime. :twitch:

When is this bubble bursting, I wonder...

It must be - it got a bookmark from me straight away. :3

I have seen this style before, but i've so many Doujins over the years, that it'll take me sometime to click on, though i believe wao has helped out my memory a bit. Anyway, judging from the anime's official site - i can see that i'll be enjoying this one. Looking forward to hearing more about it!

Jackpot.

I'm not the biggest fan of Hiroyuki, but his male character designs really stick out in my opinion. He has his way with those quirky facial expressions, yet remain stiffly boxy with male character faces.

The name of this anime amuses me, and so I must at least have a peek at what it's all about when it broadcasts :D

*fan of the manga*
Ahh, this reminds me of the days when I translated Hiroyuki-san's TYPE-MOON mangas on WAKAchan.

Anyway, Doujin Work anime. This means Justice goodness in full animation. :heh:

Still, it's a mystery why they chose to animate it now. Even though there are 3 manga volumes completed so far (3rd one due out on the 27th), I seriously don't think there will be enough content (coherent ones anyway ^^; ) for an anime, even at 1 cours (13 episodes).

Either way, Nice to hear the news of an anime adaptation. If I remember right, Hiroyuki-san's comment on the front inner flap of the first volume was...

"Nice to meet you, Hiroyuki here. I'll do my best until an anime adaptation comes out" (Jan 2006) ^^;

*begins flipping through the volume*

*begins laughing uncontrollably* :heh:

The anime character design is alright, although Najimi (wow her name looks weird written in romaji) appears somewhat loli.

Am I right in thinking that this is an MFI production (or at least they will handle distribution).

There is a link to the Doujin Site on the MFI site

wao 2007-03-14 01:56

Yeah I think they're involved. They mention on the Doujin Work webpage that a promo of the anime will be shown at Media Factory's booth at Tokyo Anime Fair 2007.

A trailer has just been released on the official site. I won't post the link to it, not sure about the whole MFI business when it comes to trailers. Doesn't reveal too much, but then can't really say since those lines in the trailer meant absolutely nothing to me... :uhoh:

Looks like it could be quite fun though.

BOZZY 2007-04-10 18:45

Just wondering, but what's the manga about?

If it's on the official site then there shouldn't be any problems about posting links. MFI only objected to AnimeSuki linking to sites that contained fansubs.

The trailer was somewhat... odd. It's pretty much just a bunch of still images. But I don't get why they had to show each character's name every time they showed up on the screen though.

It's about a girl making her debut in the doujin creation field with the help of her experienced friends. Every aspect of what it's like to be an doujinshi artist is covered, in Hiroyuki-san's uniquely perversed comedy fashion.

In unrelated news, I just finished reading vol.3, and Kaneru just became my favorite character. Probably because she's exactly like me. ^^;

I believe some girl is getting her big break in writing doujin manga or something and it chronicles that, but she looks a little young to be getting knee deep into the business.
