Strike Witches TV (Mecha Musume)

Woohoo! Strike Witches is getting a TV anime.

(Should this thread be moved back to Unaired?)

Vexx 2007-12-24 12:50

Hmmm, looks like Sky Girls may have given this property a lift if that is the case :)

Just remember, Strike Witches arrived "first" so I get to slap the first poster that whines this show is a ripoff of Sky Girls.

Kaioshin Sama 2007-12-24 15:28

Yes, more loli mecha action goodness next year. I was worried everything was going back to pre Winter 2006 levels after this year, but in just the past week there have been like 10 announcements on shows that I'd like to watch.

Ashlotte 2007-12-24 15:35

Wonderful news...Been waiting for this since I first saw the OVA, can't hardly wait. ;)

Actually, it came in "second". You're forgetting the Sky Girls OVA. :)

The real question would be more like "which one was announced first? I believe Strike Witches was. However it took forever for the very short OAV to come out :) (I think the SW site itself appeared in the January 2006 if not earlier)

That's why we were talking in " ", I believe. :p

sky girs vs. strike witches

Didn't Humikane Shimada create both series?

JagdPanther 2008-04-09 09:42

HELL. YES.

I mean, I loved Sky Girls, but when I saw concept stuff for Strike Witches back a long time ago and found out there was only a 7-minute OAV I was kinda bummed... Sky Girls got the nod for an anime over SW at the time. It was nice, but not as nice as SW could be.

I heard about the anime last night and searched here to make sure I wasn't being BS-ed.

I CANNOT wait for this!

I'm a sucker for the cute and loli, but the fact it's World War II-themed just totally seals the deal for me.

Deathkillz 2008-06-08 18:56

You know at first I really didn't make any connection to this and Sky girls...but now I see it...it's the head and tail addons

And looking at the seiyuu selection...I see another must watch :D

(Hopefully it does better than Sky girls for me).

You didn't like Sky Girls?

I thought it was pretty good. Not great, but definitely solid.

Deathkillz 2008-06-09 04:49

I would have liked it more if it wasn't so "boring" and repetitive. It was yet another series which I expecting something that didn't come about ie. not enough explosions
