Same staff and cast as the TV series. Opens in Japan Feb 9 2013.

The description on the site sounds like it will be a remake. The blurb calls the movie a "new construction" of the story featuring Takuto, Wako, and Sugata. This is supposed to be a brand new work which presents the characters in a completely new light, and represents the new vision of the Star Driver franchise. Or... something like that. Lol.

Newtype is going to have a feature on the Star Driver movie this month. They'll have comments from the staff and cast, etc. So I guess they announced this just before anything would leak from the mag. Pretty smart!

Confirmed returning characters from the official site: Takuto, Sugata, Wako, Head, Fish Girl, Keito, Benio, Kanako, Midori, Mizuno, Marino, Serina, Ryousuke.

Tauburn arms look kinda of like Big O's.

im glad its a remake and standalone story... the tv series ended well already no need for ruining that good ending

Mantan Web is reporting that the Star Driver movie is a rearrangement of the TV series, with a brand new post-ending epilogue.

If so, it would be a big letdown :(

Considering the key visual, I'm not really that worried. There will probably be plenty of brand new original footage and action scenes.

why? it's better than coming up with brand new story using old characters and rushing it into one or one and half hour movie

It worked perfectly with Utena, so why not?

REMAKE!? BAH, but i can live with that after Eureka7..... & dat pic, to me why does Takuto look like a freakin' jedi who dual wields lightsabers with that pose? Star Wars Driver? lololol :heh: & that redesigned Tauburn just screams ~Utoroman Zeero!!~ for obvious reasons if you get the joke....... :heh:

Utena the movie is rushed like hell, took only few seconds to introduce a character or duel

like watching F1 race and we actually got race there :heh:

not saying that it was bad, but although its kinda draggy I obviously like the TV version better

MOAR KIRABOSHI!!!!!!! Definitely excited for this since STAR DRIVER was surprisingly good despite a lot of people saying otherwise. And they even added fabulous outfits!
