Yoshitomi Akihito (the mangaka of EAT-MAN and RAY manga) is the mangaka of the original one volume shounen manga BLUE DROP (serialized in the shounen manga magazine Dengeki Comic Gao!)
BLUE DROP ~Tenshi no Bokura~ (BLUE DROP ～天使の僕ら～) manga, which is serialized in the shounen manga magazine Champion RED, is a revival of the original one volume manga BLUE DROP, and its by the same mangaka Yoshitomi Akihito.

According to it, the Blue Drop anime will take place years before the ~Tenshi no Bokura~ story and will take place at a girls' school. They do mention solving some mystery associated with the ~Tenshi no Bokura~ story, but maybe that could just mean giving lots of info about the aliens and stuff?

Pretty damn dissapointing :( I looked at the first few chapters of the Tenshi no Bokura manga, and I was so hyped up >.< but I'm a big yuri fan, and I'll be still looking forward for the anime :)

Mecha Design was changed to Mechanical Design, the Audio Director was added, Yoshitomi Akihito is also the Scenario writer, and Takeda Itsuko is also the General Animation Director.

The latest issue of the seinen manga magazine Champion RED (released today) mentions the anime adaptation of BLUE DROP on its cover, which can be seen here.

Its going to be a 13 episode anime.

The first volume of the seinen manga BLUE DROP ~Tenshi no Bokura~ (BLUE DROP ～天使の僕ら～) will be released on September 20, 2007.

I've read a few of the chapters and I just want to know one thing. Why do the Japanese have to make lesbians seem gross and oversexed, when in reality, they're nothing like that?

Depends on the type of yuri you're seeing. Tomoyo, from Card Captor Sakura, is nothing like that.

(PS: You have a top lesbian character in your avvie, too :heh:. And she didn't seem that gross and oversexed either).
