FYI:

K-On!! episodes air on wednesday 1:25 AM japanese time. In this case, it means approximately 8 hours and 40 minutes from the time of posting.

Judging by the January episode's quality, the second season should be a whole lot better than the first (Which I was already a fan of). Can't wait.

AHAHAHAHA, the new OP is lol'tastic. I actualyl started laughing out loud at my job despite all the weird looks I got. The animation is nice too, despite some reused shots it seems that KyoAni is getting back in form. Bravo Kyoani. I now look forward to this even more. :)

They tried to play it safe for the ED though.

OP song: Not a big fan of, although I'll give until I've heard the full length version.

OP animation: Yay, Azusa gets a well-deserved full appearance instead of being an afterthought! Fitting ending shot on a cake :D Also: Meganekko-Mio?

But what's up with HTT being everywhere? I can't remember that acronym/logo being used anywhere, either within the stories or on products. Heck, they already have a in-universe band logo from the last episode.

"HTT" is the name of the band... Japanese word for 'afternoon'... otherwise in English: "ATT" :D

Well yeah, I know it's Houkago Tea Time, but it's not like they've used "HTT"-banners as backdrops during concerts, or (as far as I remember) written it on posters, or on the bass drum.

Maybe someone decided that "Darn, fans keep referring to the band as K-On! even though that's only the name of the show. We've better push the actual band name harder"

Loved the ending.

From a musical perspective, that OP song is absolutely nuts. Obviously designed to sell those score sets and practice CDs, because it'd take a lot of work for even a decent band to be able to perform a song like that at par -- even setting the "Chipmunk" vocals aside.

ED song is a lot simpler musically, but still pretty fun. Drummer has a crazy job in the chorus though - yikes! I love the fake-ending/reprise -- really unusual in an ED song and a nice touch here.

Looking forward to watching the episode.
