Glad to see Ruka's having something of a role to play in the events again. If there was ever an episode of the series that emphasized its theatrical nature, it's this one. I also really, really enjoyed it. The matter of Ruri's parentage is still up in the air, but most of the mysteries have been solved. Didn't think we'd be getting into ancient kings who seek immortality. I know Hayate deals with the upper class on a regular basis, but it rarely delves into actual royalty. Especially those who are mad with power. Or in Dolly's case, just mad. Everything's tying together really nicely. As predicted, Shin is indeed inside Hayate, and Hayate himself is now inside the clock. Nagi's father doesn't seem like a terrible person, from his conversation. A little misguided, perhaps, but there's a heart underneath all that. He's very well going to have to sacrifice himself in order for this arc to resolve - all I ask is that that moment delivers the emotional punch I know it can.

Yukiji's rampage was also entertaining. The things people will do for the love of money. In that regard, she's a perfect sidekick to Shin/Hayate in this climax.

Finally Ruka actually talks instead of acting/singing =w=;;

And looks like the Shin theory was correct lol

But... I want to know why the hell Tsugumi is still Nagi's sister... something doesn't match...

This episode was awesome, I knew Hayate and Shin had switched spots and im glad Dolly wasnt who I thought it was. Man why couldn't things be like this from the get go? I would have most likely liked this season just as much as the others if that was the case.

The shortcomings of this season were mostly on the early episodes where the comedy fell flat, the animation was inconsistent, and the directing was poor. But ever since it finally started advancing the plot in the second half most of those aspects were fixed (except the comedy) and I have genuinely started to like this season. I always had faith that at the very least Hata would be able to make a good story for this season. While his comedy is imo no longer as strong as it used to be (manga being the proof) at least we know his more serious stories are still well made.

PS: I dont care if it doesnt fit the story manglobe, but can we at least see Athena ONCE in the finale next week? Please?

The mystery of the Kuro-tsubaki was actually pretty darn intriguing and the part about the story of the King and the fairy finally comes full circle as well as the story of Nagi's parents was rather engaging, it's too bad that the execution for most parts in the first part were a complete mess.

I have absolutely no problem with Hayate no Gotoku trying to tell a serious story, Lord knows those were some of it's best works, but the build-up for this story up until this point was very sloppy and I find it hard to be interested in anything... Oh well, next week is the final episode already so at the very least they could go out with a huge dramatic bang.

And the rest of us will spend the next three years wondering if we'll ever see you-know-who... Heck, for all we know next week could be the VERY LAST EPISODE for the entire HnG Anime series...

This was a very good episode. I love how Yukiji is a one man army when it comes to money. I wanted more of Ruka's concert, but beggars can't be choosers.

1 Who the heck is crow man?
2 Who is heck is Tsugumi then?

Need more back story on Nagi's dad
and that should wrap up this arc
I wonder how Hata will connect this to the manga

It was a better episode than many of the others before it, but it still feels a little lazily put together overall.

I couldn't help but laugh when the masked robber was talking with his ridiculous voice though, props to whomever voiced that guy.

Great episode, Seems Nagi gets to save Hayate this time :).

Highlight of the episode for me, was Yukiji. LOL

There are many reasons to fight and Yukiji Sensei has chosen to fight for her money!

suddenly.. after a slow start, we're reaching an epic climax...
so season 3 will explain more about Yukariko-Shin's relationship...

this time, Nagi shows her maturity...
she isn't a crybaby who always cling to Hayate anymore (well, she has showed it since apartment arc)

This episode changed my view of Hata's script. He still know how to write an epic story...

I wish this season had started THIS interesting...

Wow... what can I say?

-Shin Hayek seriously looks like Hayate... Heck, he even acted a bit like Hayate when he was talking to Nagi.
-So they do know Ruka in this storyline? I was beginning to doubt they did, with Ayumu being the only one to even mention her much, and then it was just the concert.
-Nagi getting to be mature and independent is awesome. I hope we'll see more of that in the manga at some point.
-The Black Camellia is a goddamn awesome-looking sword. If it weren't for the bad luck and the soul thing, I'd want one.

Also, is it just me, or has Nagi never actually been affected by the BC's bad luck?

Of course not, she's only held it when Hayate was trapped inside =D

Must say with a very slow start at getting into it, this season hasn't turned out that bad(considering the first 5 Episodes I struggled to watch, except for the Hina/Hayate date haha).

Still I would like a continuation from season 2 but hey will take what I can get. Lets all hope that this won't be the last season ;)

Ok. The basic rundown was:
1. Dolly and Shin met sometime long ago, and bush monster convinced the thief to steal the clock from the Sanzennin's.
2. Shin Hayek first attempted breaking into the Sanzennin manor to find and loot the clock, but he was stoppped dead on his tracks by Yukariko Sanzennin aiming him with a gun at point-blank range.
3. Yukariko became infatuated with Shins' looks and cutely coerced him to become her butler to serve her, which a freaked out Shink promptly agreed out of fear for his life.
4. The situation became at first freaky and uncomfortable to Shin getting thrown to such weird lady, but he eventually grew used to being around Yukariko to the point of loving her, though Mikado Sanzennin, her rich father, suspected Shink ever along about his alledged love towards Yukariko. Those harbored suspicions prompted Mikado to tell his own daughter to give the invaluable ring to Shin, in order to prove whether the latter was just in for the money or truly loved Yukariko.
5. Sometime later, both Yukariko and Shin married, then enjoyed their honeymoon trip and first night as newly-weds, and well you know what happened next. :heh:
6. Some more time later, Dolly grew impatient of waiting for Shin to retrieve the black camelia for her, so she took Shin's wedding ring away in order to coerce him to bring the magical pocket watch somewhere in Las Vegas.
7. Shin asked Yukariko for the pocket watch, likely, telling her he was to settle some business, then returning to her side due to losing his ring.
8. Shin traveled to Las Vegas, USA and on his way to rendezvous with Dolly the accident happened ending with his body dying, but his soul getting transfer inside the Black Camelia in exchange for the release of the soul of Dolly's beloved King.
9. The King passed away the moment Shin's body perished in the traffic accident. Dolly neither received nor learned from Shin that day, so she thought he had tricked her.
10. Thirteen years later, a frustrated and despaired Dolly sent Tsugumi to the Sanzennin manor to get the black camelia the former believing that it was still there.
11. All the events from Hayate no Gotoku season three ensued from the first up to the tenth episode when Hayate got accidentally stabbed by the magical sword, transfering his soul within the Black Camelia, and thus releasing Shin's soul into Hayate's body.
12. Nagi figured out the dark secret behind the Black Camelia so she arranged to have her mother's wedding ring delivered to her from Japan, and arranged for idol star Ruka Suirenji to wear the ring in public so as to draw out Shin's attention, who now is inhabiting Hayate's body. Nagi convinced Tsugumi to retrieve for her the other ring from Dolly.
13. The operation was a success, since Nagi and Shin finally met properly as daughter and father, exchanging a peaceful conversation. Nagi replied to her father that her mother passed away eight years ago when he asked for Yukariko's whereabouts.
14. Nagi let it know to her father that her mother always loved him to the end, and that she never held a grudge against him for leaving her side. Shin got released from any burden of guilt after hearing that reply from Nagi.
15. Dolly broke the tender reunion abruptly, demanding the Black Camelia be handed to her, so she could release her precious King.
16. Shin stood by his daughter's side and broke the news to Dolly that her King's soul perished from the accident after he got himself unknowingly stabbed by the magical sword, then he demanded from the wtich to give him back his wedding ring.
17. Of course, Dolly entered into denial that her King had died time ago and no longer had a purpose to fulfill. She got so imperially pissed off, that in a fit of a rage transformed into a 50 feet tall, bush monster sprouting all over the hotel.
