Looking for Action-romance Anime
 

So, I'm looking for anime to watch that meet the following criteria:

• Action
• Romance
• Confident male protagonist

Optional criteria:

• Darker themes/ art style
• Psychological
• Science fiction
• Fantasy
• Supernatural

Not interested in:

• Harem
• Comedy
• Slice-of-life
• Historical

I didn't see Zero no Tsukaima on your list and that fits your crieria for Action, Romance, Confident male protagonist and Fantasy. Im not sure if you will like it but its worth watching IMO

I assume the romance you refer to in Kurenai is between Shinkarou and Yuuno, yes? Shinkarou's relationship with Murasaki-chan is much more sibling-like despite her fantasies.

Kurenai has a lot of "slice-of-life" episodes in the middle. The action comes mostly at the beginning and the end. Regardless it is still an excellent show and well worth watching.
