I don't think I like this new trend in movie recaps.

hardly new trend. movie recap is been there since beginning of anime

Movie recaps have been a thing since the 80's. The most famous of them is the Gundam movie trilogy, which is what pretty much launched the popularity of Gundam.

My definition of new isn't "new new", but more like within a range of 6-35 years new!

It's still hardly a "new" trend though if it's been going on for at least three decades now. :heh:

Regardless of the age of the recap trend, I suspect, like I did with Madoka, I will go straight to watching the second movie, unless the creators to do something unexpected to convince me otherwise.

I expect, at the very least, something new at the end to lead to the second movie. Even a two-second shot of maybe Yamato or Musashi after the credits will be enough to clue in people, for example.

Thanks for the reply ;). Now I wonder if this means that other characters will also get “outfit-overhaul” too. If so, that will certainly encourage me to watch the recap :p.

Hopefully Kirishima gets that suit with the coat like in the manga.

I've yet to watch the series unless you count one episode with my former anime club. From the discussion I take it I should watch the series and not try to go with movies alone. I am not really familiar with recaps not sure I like the idea either

^ Yes, I suggest you watch the series first before watching the movies. If you go directly into the recap first movie, it will rob you of the good pacing the series has and that’s a bad idea imo.

Maybe they'll make her Yamato's subordinate that ordered 400 & 402 to ambush Iona & Gunzou after escaping Iwoto. That point was never addressed in the series probably due to time-constraint.
