Is there anyone who has managed to read past volume one? Can anyone tell me anything about this character?

Interesting. It seems a good part of the staff that worked on Rozen Maiden will reunite for this, including the director, Kou Matsuo, currently busy working on Kure-nai. Animation's also by NOMAD.

I suppose that's enough to keep me somewhat interested. It also helps that I loved the author's character designs for Kamisama Kazoku - simple yet appealing. The style shows on the official artwork available for the manga. The covers leaning towards fanservice had me worried (I may be totally off since I haven't read anything yet), but... I can't really see the adaptation going down that path with Kou Matsuo and the rest of the staff anyway.

(And to think that a fake report on 2ch first announced Studio Flag and the person who directed Himawari for this... phew? :uhoh:)

In the series there's other towns that have mayors, He's the district mayor Yuhi Shinatsuhiko.

The voice cast is nice, and there's several other elements that have me interested, along with the premise, so this too is on my "to watch" list for the fall.

Utau 2008-08-26 21:38

Hime Yarisakura; Fukuen Misato
Akina Hiizumi; Kaji Yuuki
Kotoha Isone; Sawashiro Miyuki
Ao Nanami; Fujita Saki
Kyousuke Kishi; Ono Daisuke
Rin Azuma; Matayoshi Ai
Touka Kishi; Tomatsu Haruka
???; Seki Tomokazu
???; Ookubo Aiko

looks like a pretty decent cast they got there. I'll include it on my looks-out list.

Seki Tomokazu Plays What's His Name in Yozakura Quartet

A little while ago, I added Ookubo Aiko as V Juri F and Tanaka Rie as Maria Bell to the Japanese cast list of the Yozakura Quartet (TV) entry in the Anime News Network Encyclopedia.

I was going to add Seki Tomokazu to the list, but not being familiar with the manga I don't know the correct reading for the name of the character he plays.

has anyone read the newly released volume 5?

terrus 2008-09-10 14:41

I'm looking forward to this as I enjoyed the first chapter of the manga and the rest of what i've read looks fun and seeing as I enjoyed Kure-nai I should enjoy this as well, also round-table are doing the ED which is a big score point for me as well ^-^.

No trailers i presume is there?

Spoiler for Yozukara vol 2 and onwards:

This sounds really interesting; and the art is beautiful. I'm looking forward to this.

You know I knew I recognised the artwork for the series and now I remember, Yasuda Suzuhito did some of the work in Robot. Also I just ordered the first two manga volumes

AngelsThesis 2008-09-15 07:40

yupz

also the illustrator for Kami-sama Kazoku

Shiroi Hane 2008-09-19 20:42

I saw some nice art for this in a magazine recently, and it sounds fairly interesting too, if rather generic. I think I took a picture of it.. yes, here it is:

It was the kemonomimi girl that interested me.

Deus ex Digital Boy 2008-09-19 20:58

I'm pumped for this just because it's Matsuo Kou and he is a fucking genius.
