"I looked cool, right?" was such a great line. What you'd expect from a teenager. :p
I'm pleased with how the series handles drama, plus it keeps that fresh approach for the build-up between the two, so all around i'm pleased. Shame next week will be the end, though i'm looking forward to a HHHNNNGGGGG ending for the two. |
I like this ep. Though not much like previous ep but this ep is important for Kaoru's growth. This ep is like a prelude to something big. I hope that the closure will be a big one.

Also I like this episode alot, mostly because I like how the setup of middle school friends becoming closer and closer to each other, and they eventually try to find the feelings that they don't know for each other. Also I really loved the scene where Junichi was all red in the bathtub and Miya was just looking at him :p |
I feel bad for rating this a 6, but not bad enough.
Me=not a drama fan. And it didn't meet my expectations, although it's probably my fault that I expected too much. -_-" Did they purposefully reuse Kaoru's bath scene lines in Junichi's bath scene, or are the scriptwriters just plain lazy? :p |

It was definitely on purpose. Once at the beginning, once at the end, NEAR same script.
|
Yes, they're both trying to figure out their feelings, hence the same scene. Kaoru arc is pretty awesome, massive improvement from Haruki arc. :D

Kaoru kinda emo when she see her mom with an unknown man...which make me thinks she's kinda of selfeish there. In the end she realised this and come in good terms with her mom..maybe she feels kinda of insecure.

I mean there is all of a sudden this guy hanging around your mom, they decide to go into marriage, and you don't know who this man is and if you will actually like him or not, he may turn out to be one of those guys that takes advantage of many situations and eventually just ruin your life. Or etc, etc |
Have to say, this episode was quite nice to watch. Didn't feel forced or anything.
|
Unfortunately, I feel I can only pass on a 6 (average) for this ep. Too little happened for my taste. When an episode summary can be reduced to "Junichi worries over the missing Kaoru, who happens to be on a temporary emo trip over not wanting her mother to remarry. He bribes her with kind words and chocolate, and Kaoru recovers. Both notice how important the other has become to them", without omitting ANYTHING relevant, you know that not much happened.
Next ep is already the last? Well, then let's hope for something more exciting ^_^; |

I think it's fine the way it is .. there's been more development in this arc than what you would expect between two horny school friends.
And again, please enjoy the ride, it's a dating sim adaptation, don't expect fate/stay night plot =p |

And please don't use 'adaptation' and 'Fate/stay night' in the same sentence...it'll make me sad then angry. :heh: |
i'm disappointed with this ep, while i found it good in terms of showing progression in thier relationship, and then when i compare with the awesome 3rd ep that Haruka had... I was expecting much from this ep.

Much as I enjoyed ep7, I did find it a bit slower than I'd like. The deepening of the character portraits made up for that, though. And the mere fact that they do not have a straight cookie-cutter template for the arcs is a good thing.
Kaoru's feeling of betrayal was not sketched very deeply, but it is a situation in which you could easily feel pretty bad: you thought you and your mom were the team, and now she goes to a stranger for something you can't give her. Betrayal and a feeling of inadequacy. Junichi's rushing away did seem a bit much at first, but when I thought about the fact that Kaoru actually didn't even come home that night, and he was the last person to be with her, then his feeling of her in real danger and him slightly responsible could spur him to do that. I agree with serenade_beta that youkai hesoname (~"navel-licking monster") was definitely one of the highlights, lol. |
Well this episode certainly didn't impress me. I was expecting something more given the rather dramatic title but instead we were given a rather flat piece of drama. It seems to me that drama clearly isn't part of this show's strenghts.
While I can understand why Kaoru was upset with her mothers actions I felt that there was something lacking. I mean running away from home, that just felt weird. Kaoru's reputation (warhead thingie) clearly has some basis in reality. Junichi's reaction of running away from school to look for her also felt somewhat flat, especially when we were given the rather bland resolution scene at the restaurant. That was just anticlimactic. All in all this episode felt like a rather slow build-up for the final where we will hopefully actually see some more emotion between Kaoru and Junichi. Right now they just feel like two old friends. Well, I still have my hopes for next week. |
The last line was the best.
Also, Myaa was pretty ruthless when watching the TV with nii-nii at the start, haha! |
