Seikon no Qwaser (both seasons)

The shounen manga Seikon no Qwaser will be getting a TV anime adaptation.

聖痕のクェイサー
Seikon no Qwaser

The manga is serialized in the shounen manga magazine Champion RED.
Currently there are 7 volumes released of this manga.

Covers:

Author: Yoshino Hiroyuki
Illustrator: Satou Kenetsu

English wiki entry for the manga:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seikon_No_Qwaser

Genre: Shounen, Action, Adventure, Supernatural

Synopsis in the following is stolen from wiki.
The story takes place on the grounds of St. Mihailov Academy, a Japanese Eastern Orthodox school, and draws heavily on religious references from the aforementioned religion. Here it follows the trials and hardship of two of its students, Oribe Mafuyu and Tomo Yamanobe, until the encounter with a mysterious, silver-haired, Russian boy named Alexander, or Sasha for short. This pits them and the whole school in an all-out war between the Church itself and the so-called "Adepts", a sect of individuals wielding powers linked to the elements of chemistry.

So it's getting a tv series. Great news. Alex is a badass in his own right though the way he power ups is ridiculous beyond means. Anyone who's interested to know whats this is well the there are already scanlations available. Another ecchi/harem series with a badass lead, hoping atleast Alex will get a manly voice instead a girly one even if he's technically still a kid. Any infos on the studio btw?

Alex? Isn't his name Sasha? I'm guessing that you've read passed the trans chaps, because I didn't know that he could "power-up", since he can only use one element and his strength is based on the Soma he drinks?

Anyways, at the very least, the battles will be interesting, since fighting is based on the actual elements of the periodic table. Since I don't know much about chemistry and such, its cool to see how one element beats another, then, by using the element in a diff way, changes the weakness to a strength.

And I LOVE Teresa \(`,`)/!!!

TrueKnight 2009-05-16 09:13

Well Sasha's a nickname but his real name is Alexander Herr.

Edit: here's the link of the translation if anyone's interested. Up to 12 chapters are scanlated,

Of all the mangas to had be adapted, it had to be this one. I wonder how are they gonna handle Sasha "source of power"?

Ice-CooL 2009-05-16 13:54

I think it will be pretty faithfull, btw love the character designs...

Midonin 2009-05-16 14:02

Just reading the ANN article (and then the first few chapters) was enough to put this on my "I'll check it out" list. For reasons that I will not extrapolate further on to maintain my decency.

Tom Bombadil 2009-05-16 14:04

Ton of ecchi potentials. No "ecchi" in the tag of this show? That's misleading. :)

Bonta Kun 2009-05-16 14:30

well not all too fond of Qwaser that much, its got some nice characters here and there but thats about it. The story just never clicks I felt, probably just check this out for the ecchi and Teresa.

Westlo 2009-05-16 16:47

I guess this will take over the timeslot of "Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!!" which in turn is taking over from "Queen's Blade"?

Midonin 2009-05-16 16:55

That's making a wild guess off of nothing, and while I can see where it's coming from, we won't know until we know.

Tom Bombadil 2009-05-16 18:42

Do we know which studio is working on this?

Mizuno 2009-05-16 18:43

lol that pic screams hentai... :heh:

Yes it was (chapters like 6 or 8 are very graphic), the genre in the first post is wrong.... this is not Shounen, this is Mature Seinen all the way.;)

Is the part where he sucks on her nipple part of this manga? :D

As Blue Drop manga is mentioned as shounen manga by the publisher (Akita Shoten), this is also mentioned as shounen manga too. Great to see shounen manga being that perverted :heh:

Yeah, that's how it is, any manga that's serialized in Champion RED is mentioned as shounen manga, no matter what its content is, be it Blue Drop, Seikon no Qwaser, Shigurui, or any other manga.

Mizuno 2009-05-17 03:12

That scene in the church was really graphic and tragic. I didn't get very far with the manga tbh.
