Most badass female character~
 

i see a lot of threads about the cute/beautiful/hot female characters in a lot of anime forums but i see few on the bad-ass category, in a nutshell.

anyhoo, my top one would be Integra from Hellsing (manga!), and second and third would be Balalaika and Revy from Black Lagoon.

If you accept campy Japanese video games my vote goes to The Boss/The Joy from MGS 3.

Otherwise Lan Fan from the FMA manga is my top choice. The way she lost her arm was pretty hardcore.

Falis from Murder Princess, the Three Most Fearsome Women in the World from Black Lagoon, Signum (see my avatar and signature) and Nanoha from Nanoha, and Arcueid (Melty Blood version only!) are all pretty badass IMO.

Also I think the reason I started appreciating badass female characters was probably Kiyone from Tenchi Muyo! so I'll throw her in as well.

I would say

- Revy from Black Lagoon

- Rukia from Bleach

- Falis from Murder Princess

- Robin from One Piece

There's no way this title does not meritoriously go to Teresa, 182nd warrior of the 77th class, rank number 1.

Yeah how did I forget Claymore @_@ Add Teresa Chwann to my list : D

Personally I think Irene and Galatea are more badass than Teresa. Irene has her scene with Clare and the arm thing, Galatea has her whole conceit about not using too much power so she can keep up appearances... Teresa was just the best fighter, and to me she felt more like she was just 'the best for the sake of having a character who's the best'; her competence somehow lacked impact, it just was.

Oh sure. Re-al was bad ass, right until she became a damsel in distress. Fail.

Theresa was strong, but that didn't have the bad ass attitude. Fail.

For girls who are truly badass, not just dangerous, you have to watch Black Lagoon. If you haven't watched Black Lagoon, you're basically talking about would-be badass girls without realizing what the real thing looks like. Almost everyone else mentioned in this thread just isn't in the same category of badass and if you think they are, it is because you haven't seen the real thing.

Except for Major Motoko Kusanagi. She's just... Well, she's possibly the only girl who could have matched Levy in the badass Olympics, except that she just doesn't know how to really enjoy a good ass kicking. Some points also to Falis of Murder Princess who definitely has it goin' on, even if she isn't quite at that level.

Everyone else mentioned in this thread: Fail. Not because they are weak, but because they don't have the dangerous attitute to match their dangerous powers.

Sara was dangerous and massively cool, but she didn't swagger, grin at death or threaten for fun. Not badass. Incredibly cool character, but badass is a normally macho thing which few girls can pull off.

Riful may be dangerous, but the loli factor cancels badass. Ophelia does the psycho madwoman thing, but that's not badass either. She's nutso, not death defying.

Kirika is at least moving in the right direction, she's slightly badass, but still too quiet to do it well.

Don't know that one... I fail.

Integra is seriously worth a mention. Naturally most of the characters listed in this thread could make mincemeat out of her, but the lady has balls. Huge ones. She can stare death in the face from 2 inches away and make it flinch. She can rave and pysch out and make madmen back down. Yeah, she's rather badass. If she had the power to match her attitude, all would tremble before her awesome majesty. As it is, she's only scary until you realize she's powerless without her hound. Of course, if that hound - Alucard - is present, then his own badass quotient will easily overpower her own.

I guess Have to disagree with NSW you her on Teresa . Leaving my Rampant Fanboyism aside Teresa was a cold sarcastic sophisticated killing m/c till Clare came along . Then there was a transformation from Badass ------> Caring . At least before Clare Teresa is badass

On the topic of Claymore my other pick would be Priscilla Extremely Cold Psychopath her actions being nullified by Childlike Innocence

One More character deserves a mention Asran (let me check) from Trinity Blood
