FFXII to be the last "roman numeral" final fantasy?
Will 12 be the last FF game released that is not a sequel, or a spin-off [tatics, crystal chronicals, chocobo dungeon]? Clocks do only have 12 hands...
FF6: Touch each clock to get an elixer... FF7: Temple of the anciencts had a clock room, remember where you have to cross, and get Aeris's Final Weapon? FF8: Ultimecia's Clock tower FF9: Really not too sure... FF10: Travels through time 1000years, 1000 is a clear multiple of "10" as in the tenth hand. FF11: haven't played... FF12: Something about a war which could end the world...or something? haven't paid close attention to it. This theory is a rumor, I was just thinking. After this there may only be sequels and remakes...hopefully not :( |
I hope you know that clocks are an everyday fact of life for most people, and 1000 years is a very common unit of time.
|
Hmm...
You're reading too deep into it all. If they wanted to be clever, don't you think they'd start with the game's stories? |
I'm not sure what clocks have to do Final Fantasy titles, and I'm not sure what Roman Numerals have to do with clocks. Frankly, Chibidusk, your whole post has me confused.
There are plenty of Roman Numerals to put after the words "Final Fantasy" and what makes you think they're basing the numbering on clocks? Also, why couldn't they go to 24 and use a 24 hour "clock system?" |
weren't clocks in the olden days written in roman numerals >.<
Just a rumor I heard on some fansite |
ChibiDusk, XIII follows XII. I hope you understand.
|
Yeah Yeah, I understand all that.
We had a whole class dedicated to roman numerals *sigh* Like how only 4 characters can be in one number statement. etc etc |

hmm. if i know anything about XII, then it's set in one of the "spin-off's" worlds. ivalace.
don't think it'll be the last, because the name will make money. the "last" will come when no one's interested in FF games anymore. (my prediction_ |

Oh wait, I said it wrong, you're right XD What I meant was you can only used 3 of the same symbol in one statement. Sorriez >.< |

FF12 - FFTA, I heard you hunt for Marche. marche is the hero of FFTA. Hey they might use army time. |
Hurray for more clockiness fun, lol.
Again, I myself im not sure to the truth of this so please don't complain to me. I was just asking if it was indeed true and I hope not. |
NANI!!! :twitch:
if that is true...then we need to do something about it...Quickly!!! Can u really imagine yourself in a world without FF....JUST SEQUELS!!!! :nono: MAN , THATs NOT RIGHT!!! |

valefor!!! go go go!!! you must play it! all of you [/spam] they may just give it a different name... |
yeah, if they go by the 24:00 clock or "military" time, we have quite a way to go
|
But they are numbered with roman numerals.
And the roman numerals are most often associated with those old sundials. Sundials run on normal |
I think is point is ( if it wasn't clear before ):
Old clocks had roman numberal system instead of the numberal system we know ( like I = 1 , II = 2 , III = 3 , IV = 4 , V = 5 , VI = 6, VII = 7 ect. ) Since the various FinalFantasy episodes had something to do with a ( roman ) clock, and the number the episode represents, he read that rumor that final fantasy might seriously change their style because roman clocks only go to 12 ( XII )... |
Thats like asking, will Square not milk its cash cow? Your answer, if you didnt get it from that is no because Square was built on FF (you know the whole bankruptcy thing), so I doubt they would ever do anything to stop getting the enormous profits they get from the games. Yeah, I think the numbers are getting a little high, and with X-2 there are now 13 games and only 12 roman numerals, so we've already broken past the 12 games barrier, but who knows where they'll go with this, only time will tell.
|
They could have FF7-2, FF8-2, FFX-5, FFXI-15532525
But those would count as sequels. What I said before was Quote:

rumors have been written in game mag saying it COULD be the end of FF series after ff12........
