I've analyzed the formats enough that it's possible to start translating and put up a proof of concept patch at http://www.mediafire.com/file/yoey1n...aybreak-01.zip . It's done against the demo version, and does minimal changes (Logo on opening screen rearranged, dialog of Rena / Rena after a match is replaced.)
Anybody who would be willing to help, please email (yahoo.com) or PM me. |

A friend of mine who's currently in Japan sent me my copy of Daybreak Portable not too long ago and I'm really enjoying it. It's fun :D
There's a shop where you can purchase really funny and cute costumes and weapons ... like a toy hammer or a flyswatter (made me lol). The extra costumes will only get available when you play the story modus with the certain characters. I was surprised by the little details in the different areas o_O;; In the trash dump area lies a corpse under a plane ... or so I thought at first. It was just Kenta-kun. xD;; (phew) Since I didn't play the PC version of Daybreak, I can't say whether it's better or something, but I personally like it a lot. Edit: Wow, you can purchase even other things in this shop. Didn't notice this until now ... You can buy new tracks for the battle BGM and also video tapes of the endings you've already seen. |
Has anybody besides Eryops even tried to get this working? Did Eryops try it with the demo version? (If you have Perl installed, and they didn't change the organization of the daybreak##.dat files, then I can send you the files to make the patch yourself.)

I tired to download he 1.11 patch and when it didn't work I downloaded 1.10 as well. But everytime I try playing it a error pops up :/ Any help?

I've got a new version out. This one is tested with the original (unpatched) commercial release, but should work with the demo or the patched release.
(The patch will probably apply successfully with Kai, but the images in the patch may not be used in the game. I think you'll get the translated version if you run it with the original executable, though.) This is still at the proof-of-concept stage. Translated parts are: - Controls on the "key select" screen - The label for "Oyashiro mode" vs. "Friendship mode" - Names of characters in some places - Weapon names for K1, Mion, Rena. If anybody is interested in this, please send me a PM and I'll send you a link to the new patch. |
I bought this game at an anime convention Dx
but it wont work on my fail laptop. I'm going to ask my friend Mike to make it work for me ;_; |
First public release for the registered version. (Due to lack of reply to previous post, only tested on my own computer. Not tested on DX.)

Second general release. Tested with Daybreak proper and Daybreak Kai.

What was the error message? (Also, are you playing with my English patch or not?)
|
Well, when I trie to start the game it says "This program could not start since d3dx9_25.dll wasn't found" and that pops up when I trie to play the orgiginal game (Without the english patch and kai patch)
