Anthony Mackie to Play Falcon in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Yeah, so not only do we have the title of the Captain America sequel movie (which pretty much reveals who the enemy will be), but we also have the introduction of Falcon into the MCU. Still waiting for more info. |
Not sure if want.

I'm definitely excited for this movie. Winter Soldier is one of my favorite comic arcs ever. Definitely going to be pumped for it.

I can't think of a more inauspicious opening date.
4.4.14 reads in Cantonese: "Die, die, sure die." |
Another movie based off of a comic book series? Can't they give it a rest?

Winter Soldier, huh? Comic Book Fans should know what exactly that name means and who will be making an appearance. Wonder if they kept the Black Widow tie in from the comics. Comic book fans should know what I'm talking about there as well if they read Captain America before the Fear Itself event.

Sheesh, I still need to see The Avengers!

Looking forward to the first trailer. |
It is pretty amazing how many Marvel comics-based movies are being made these days.
A second Captain America movie on its way hot off the heels of the Avengers movie and not that long after the first Captain America movie. Spiderman having a 3-movie chain, and already a new reboot. This leaves me with two observations: 1) DC Comics is really getting left behind in Marvel's dust. 2) Part of me misses the days of Robocop, Terminator, Rambo, Rocky, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars. In other words, Hollywood doesn't seem to be producing Hollywood-Original Sci-fi/Action movie series anymore. And it seems obvious to me that them milking comic book franchises (and Transformers) for all their worth is the main reason why... |

Lets hope that the man of steel and JL movies will be decent Quote:

Spiderman (3, and now a reboot for 4) X-Men (3, including a separate movie for Wolverine) The Fantastic Four (2, including one focusing on The Silver Surfer) Avengers (including solos for Thor, Iron Man, two for Hulk, and now two for Captain America) Ghost Rider Blade (two or three of these, IIRC) Punisher (three separate ones, admittedly very different form each other and spread out over many years) Daredevil Elektra. And I may well be forgetting something here. DC, by comparison, has barely scratched their top properties. No WonderWoman. No Flash. No Teen Titans. Quote:

I did mention audience because people have become more critical about movies these years , maybe because we have more accesible forms of media than the people of 30 years ago (like the very obvious internet). These days we can already see the trailers and read reviews of movies with a simple mouseclick.
Also think that people are less impressed by todays special effects (overabundance of CG) compared to people who saw practical effects back then. |

Part of all these movies is also about building a universe; to introduce characters who would be free to appear and disappear in each other's films, and to have Avengers style crossover films. In essence this new round of films are all about setting up Avengers 2. Another side effect is that Ironman 3 would be allowed to have magic; IM 1 and 2 were grounded in SciFi, but Avengers sneaked Magic into Tony's world, so all of a sudden some guy with magic rings would now be far less jarring. |

On the whole, I much prefer what Marvel is doing over what DC is doing. |
