Meh, finale was not as good as I expected. The previous episode made me cry but this episode didn't. I think it could have been better

The RAWS are up, but I'd rather actually understand what they're saying...

What are the chances of a BD bonus episode?
|
^ Dunno. Angel Beats only had a 3 minute bonus I think.
Plus, AnoHana gave an epilogue while Angel Beats kind of didn't. But still, crossing fingers on my end! |
Owari da!
Menma RIP forevah! |
The ending didn't disappoint me , its rather predictable but the execution was rather good a bit rush though.
Spoiler for Pairing:
Sob...RIP Menma. |
Wow. I haven't been so worked up since Ushio in Clannad. Fantasic story, fantastic ending. Perfect 10. No complaints. Thank you to everyone involved.

cried, don't have words right now.

Spoiler for End:
The show's been strong enough throughout, and the conflict so well-defined that all they really had to do this episode was stick the landing, and finish strong. I think they did that. Maybe it wasn't a blow-away finale, but it hit all the notes it needed to. And as for the admittedly extensive sobbing scenes, at least they spent the brief season building up reasons for them. So I didn't mind them. |
The ending was expected, but was executed very well. I'll admit, throughout this whole anime, I haven't managed to cry, but this episode finally let me shed a few bitch tears.

Thanks for the 3-month emotional roller-coaster and for rekindling my childhood memories that have been long buried somewhere.

I cried. and my bestfriend was sobbing.
Perfect 10 for this episode, for this series. GOD. My god Menma, and Tsuruko. ;_; MENMA. |
Spoiler for Ep 11:

this is a fantastic episode for a fantastic series.. what else can i say.
there are no twists and surprises. enjoy it guys. |
Aww hell!! That was a freakin great ending!!
Spoiler:
I give it a 9.5/10. Amazing anime, and it'll be one of my most cherished ones. |
Good ending but wasn't as moved as I expected to be. The whole scene with the three of them sobbing seemed a bit more comical than it should have been. I found the episode was rushed near the the end. I found the build up wasn't completely there. Overall good ending but not outstanding. Had me almost crying with the letters left behind... I was expecting a KEY moment but it fused out....

Man, this episode suffered from a lot of overacting. I didn't really mind the massive amount of crying in this series, but this episode it reached a critical point, especially for the first part, and a bit too much talking. :heh:
Also, Tsurukko vs Anaru is funny; where have I seen that? But after the most intense introspection/self-pitying therapy session since the last episode of Evangelion, it was a uphill journey, as one little crack at Anaru's expense brought a bit of laughter and everyone was able to pull their shit together. Props to Jintan for not becoming a mess... and apparently that's important to the plot. So that's her wish, ok. The revelation is enough to tip Jintan over. But that's not enough for Jintan so he must bring her to say goodbye to everyone. Unfortunately, Menma can't last any longer and Jintan can't see her anymore. This is a good thing, but it's bad for Jintan's mentality, and he starts flopping around like a fool in despair reminding me of that crappy ending from Angel Beats, Oh Okada don't do this... :heh: Fortunately, Menma picks herself back up with the show, and manages to send them all out in a game. The little pieces of paper was a nice touch, and let them all see Menma for a bit. So in the end, they all learned to temporarily discard their self-intrest for a moment and learned to be less centered, leading to much less self-hatred and general grumpiness around others. Take care of yourself, and then others. Good end to a great series. 9/10 |
