Any idea whether this is the anime which Gainax is secretly working on?

Oh yeah, Gainax is definitely working on it!

And thus I can't wait for it! :D

Since the part about Gainax hapenned to be true maybe moonphase was right about the rest.
So here what they had to say on Shikabane Hime : it supposed to be 2 seasons anime like Minamike, first season produced by Gainax and the second by studio Feel. Here is the source :

Now what's left is for To Aru Majutsu no Index to be really getting animated. Volume 16 of the light novel series will be released on June 10th :) so I guess we'll know by that (most likely if its getting animated, volume 16 will include an obi strip with "anime-ka" on it :) ).

Anyway, I'm looking forward for this anime just because Gainax is working on it. hmm.. when was the last time Gainax animated a manga?

I think it's either He is My Master or The Ugly yet Beautiful World.

Hmm... I don't know what this Gainax talk is about (are they great, or something that makes them sound so important?), but I'll probably watch the series, since it doesn't seem bad (inversely, it doesn't look interesting either...).
Though the covers make me think there will be plenty of fanservice or something...

Ahh The Ugly yet Beautiful World is not originally a manga (though it got a manga adaptation). but yeah their last manga to anime adaptation was He is My Master, which is also a Shounen GanGan manga, like this manga (Shikabane Hime).

It also says the writer for both seasons will be Aikawa, so we can use that as a benchmark. If the staff is revealed and Aikawa is writing the series, then we can be sure that the second season will be by Studio Feel.

Eeeh?! Split into two seasons with two different studios...
This means that it might suffer like Minami-ke, where the animation suddenly changes style or the quality of the humor/etc. changes... Mah, looking forward to seeing the transition, for better or for worse.

Just realized, but that loli on the 5th volume cover (always needs a loli, huh...) reminds me of a monkey. Maybe I'm just tired...

Heard of a little series called Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann yeah gainax made that. :)

Will watch this for the Gainax. Here's to hoping it doesn't suck like HIMM.

If it's pre-planned it could be like Futakoi. The normal series was done by Telecom, and the crazy Futakoi Alternative was done by Ufotable.

It seems the page doesn't have everything, so you can check the Japanese Wikipedia for more

Could be Saeki Shouji since at one point on those Imaishi x Otsuka interview on Anime Style, they said it was difficult to get Saeki to work on GL #25 because he was supposed to start working on a new project.

Interest drops down to zero if this turns out to be true

manuloz 2008-06-09 07:04

Well i was wrong maybe Saeki Shouji works on that other ptoject hinted by Yamaga during Fanime08.
