closing/finalizing cd-r's
 

I've been trying to finalize/close a number of CD-r's where I burned anime episodes, program's and other naughty stuff. Anyway, this took place a long time ago and I am just now finding out that I cannot view any of the files that I burned on another computer (the computer that I burned the CD's on is somewhere in a dumpster I assume; it's CPU having been fried a few years ago in an electrical storm). So anyway I've been trying to use a number of different programs/methods to try to "close" these cd's but nothing has worked. I tried Nero, CDBurnerXP, and a trail version of NTI CD & DVD-Maker 7. When I tried using these programs to finalize the CD's it either gave me some kind of error message or said that their was nothing was on the CD in the first place (the programs that gave me an error message did list some kind of partition on the disk). Is their anything I can do to close these cd's or recover the data?
