Our position regarding a PS3=>PC port patch can be read [HERE]

New announcement about the translation patch:

We have reached a very satisfying encoding stage. As result, we are currently looking for beta testers. We will provide the first 3 chapters to test out the various problems people might encounter while playing the game.
Obviously, more substancial tests will be required in the future (especially a full one before the final first release).

However, there are of course some conditions:
-You must have your own Umineko episode 2 copy (the base script of the patch works only for episode 2 for the moment). We won't provide ANY file aside of what is necessary for the patch.
-You will be asked to report any glitch you might encounter in the most usual situations (various programs at the same time, different codec or so (for the movie for example). Hence, repeated tests of the same 3 chapters will be done by the beta testers.

Hence, if you feel that you have the motivation to help us finalizing the patch, please PM me and/or Sterling01 for that matter.
We only need 7 persons for this task (we might expand the number however), so don't wait too much, but don't rush either :heh:

Oh just to add on to what Klash said:

- If I see the patch floating around the interwebs... I delete everything and the project will become just a faded memory.

- I'll also give out the other chapters as they become ready for testing...

- Don't message me or Klash if you just want the three chapters and won't report any gliches

- You have to like "Black Tea"

Let's see what will be done first the Ep 1 Patch, Ace's translation of Ep 2, the release of Ep 3, or the Ep 1 Manga.

Personally I'm hoping for the last one

Considering how chapter 3 of the manga is, It is hardly possible. it would need like 6 chapters to finish episode 1, hence a whole year (bimensual issue heh...).

I think you simply enounce the probable order of what will be done : patch, Ep2 translation then ep 3 :heh:

it's purely a guess but I think like 15% to 20% bigger

Now if we only had that beta patch ready....

How many chapters were you wanting in the beta patch? I thought it was supposed to be 0-3 :confused:
I only have Chapters 0 & 1 as "ready for insertion"; are others ready?

We were just doing Chapter 0-1 for now.

Oh, okay then. Well, my spring break is just starting, so once I get the next Higurashi beta release ready (shortly) I'll do the chapter 1 insertion for the Umineko beta.
