This is the next Tales anime (after Tales of the Abyss) and the first to get theatrical treatment in the franchise. A lot of people have already guessed the movie will cover what happened before the events of the videogame, since both Flynn and Yuri are wearing the armor of the Imperial Knights. I think it's a good idea by them to cover a new story instead of making fans mad by leaving out parts of the story. |
Never understood the point of many Anime movies that just summarise the whole story.
|
I'm pretty sure this is a prequel to the game so no it's not gonna summarize the game story's.

Need to play the game first =)
It's looking alright. Good choice for movie rather then anime. My opinion anyway, well as long as they put all the important stuff from the game, right? |
Trailer looks pretty good. And it's handled by Production I.G. Probably, will end up watching this. :)
|
The Trailer look Great !!
I just the animation look Good ^__^ and of course Estelle look Cute  I'm Glad Mai Nakahara is her saiyuu :D |
While I do like the trailer, aren't this thread supposed to be posted on Tales of... Sub-Forum?

So this is a prequel to the game?
|
It being a prequel makes it much more interesting for me. Abyss got old pretty quickly.
|
OH HELL YEAH!!!
Love Tales of Vesperia, my fav one! can't wait for this looks lush:) |
Having watched the trailer, I must say the art/designs are beautiful! Kōsuke Fujishima is doing the character design in this one, who is also well-known for his work on Oh My Goddess! and You're Under Arrest, and for his character design of Sakura Wars and other Tales of series (Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss).
My first Impression of the movie is really good. If you have played the same, the movie would be quite interesting, since the movie is a prequel of the game which explains why the things are as they are now in the game. Even if you have not played the game, this movie can in my opinion function as a nice introduction to the game. |
Yeah! I have watched the trailer over and over! I'm a huge fan of the game! Just love it! Too bad Judith will not be making an appearance here D:
Looking forward to it and the port to the PS3 |
Really excited for the movie, but I also wonder what kind of role the other main characters will play in this movie. it's a prequel on Yui's life as a knight, so what possible purpose could having Estelle, Rita, and Raven showing up in the movie do unless it's just for fanservice? It'd be a little weird if Yui actually met any of them in the prologue, then met them again for the first time in the game...
Estelle looks like she's dressed as a commoner in the PV, so Yuri could easily bump into and just not remember who she was. Though having Raven and Rita in there piques my interest. My curiosity senses are tingling. |
Is it too much to hope for an American release with the same voice actors as the game?

You know, it'll be a good idea of a U.S. company like say Bandai Entertainment to license this and release it here around the same time the PS3 version gets released here.
