Plot summary : The story revolves around Ichiko Sakura, a girl whose blissful life comes from her bountiful "happiness energy" — gained by sapping that energy from other people. To restore the balance, the Binbō-gami (Poverty God) Momiji Binbada attempts to eliminate her.

Note : The manga began in the main Jump Square magazine in 2008, and the 11th compiled book volume is shipping this month.

Even if there is no staff info yet I'm interested in this because I'll check out anything that comes from jump square.

This is really a surprise. I like the manga, so I'm hoping for a good adaptation.

When I was reading what little is translated of the manga, never in my mind would I have thought of HanaKana for Sakura. Just doesn't fit her typecast of character, but with her in it, and the director of bloody GINTAMA working on it, my anticipation level for this anime just shot through the roof.

She's going through a tough girl/tsundere phase right now after going through a "genki girl" phase before and a "shy girl" phase before that.

Sounds interesting, but it is in a shonen mag, so it is slightly less likely to appeal to me.

Maybe you grow tired of the same shounen stuff over and over.
Anyways, the story really appeals to me, but I have no time watching in entirety. ;)

Yeah, Kana doesn't seem to be a good fit for Ichiko's character. Who would be a good fit? Inoue Marina. She's been there and done that with that type of role (Kyouko Mogami), quite good at it too. Oh well.

i decided to give a shot to the manga since,a chapter just came out and i gotta say its very funny im now expecting this anime

Interesting casting Hanazawa as Ichiko, definitely not a typical role for her... as for the show itself.. gonna check it out since this is the Gintama team... read the one shot and 3 chapters of the manga... preferred the one shot to the proper first chapter... not exactly enamored with the manga but the anime could be good.

i gotta say that after reading 18 chapters of the manga, this has become my most anticipated anime for this july.

Something seems very... flat about the coloring. I think I expected better shading.

I've been reading the available manga chapters (until 18, I think) and I'm really psyched for this. Seeing Momiji's awesomeness in action would be awesome.

That said, I'm not really happy with Ichiko's character design, but it all won't matter much as long as she remains the lovable jerk that she is.

Having read the first few volumes of the manga for this I myself was questioning why they got Kana Hanazawa, but then I remembered that she's also been doing voices in RPG's of late like Sophie from Tales of Graces (combat cries and the like) or the upcoming Persona 4 character who is said to have a cold edge so I don't see why she couldn't do the voice of Ichiko. Besides

i think the role more akin to the one in this series would be the one in guilty crown, she sounded more mature with a its heavy tsundere tendencies.

anyway i cant wait for this to start airing, since it would be hard tyo screw something as hilarious as this.
