Doubt

Doubt is a mystery/suspense manga from Tonogai Yoshiki that is serialized in Shonen Gangan. It is currently being scanlated by SnoopyCool. Here is the synopsis from Baka-Updates Manga:
Quote:

There's a game going around Japan called 'Rabbit Doubt'. The premise of the game is that all of the players are rabbits in a colony, and one amongst them is randomly chosen to be a wolf that infiltrated the group of rabbits. Every round, the wolf kills off a rabbit, and every round, the group tries to figure out which of the rabbits is actually a wolf in disguise. Sometimes the kids who play this game decide to meet up in person, and Yuu, Mitsuki, Rei, Hajime, Eiji, and Haruka have done just that. Unfortunately, one of them has decided to take on the mantle of the wolf and has already killed once. Who is the wolf, and can they be stopped before everyone meets a very unpleasant end?
So it is pretty much a "When killing becomes a game" manga. Though it seems to take a backseat to the mystery element, gore is present so be forewarned (or if you're into that, enjoy :)). I'm really looking forward to reading this one because I like the characters so much, and it has been quite a while since I read a good mystery manga.

When I first looked at Doubt and read the summary - I immediately thought of the movie Cry Wolf ... back, when was it? 2~3 years ago? I can't really remember when it was out lol but it was pretty much a similar thing.

However, I'm getting really interested in this O_O

after reading the first chapter it made me think of Saw (movie) looks interresting depending on how they deal with the mysterie part and the motive of the "wolf"

well just read the 1st chapter....

interesting way to introduce the manga

first volume ended nicely. every chapter hold his part of mistery and revelation and adds up to the chocking atmosphere.

it s one of the rare book i find myself looking forward to the next chapter.
i really like the atmosphere in this story it manages to give me that "suffocating" feeling i had when i used to play those survival/investigation games i used to play on sega saturn (though i cant remember the title of the one i have in mind, trapped into a house 'with a few girls :3' after bus accident)

Just finished reading the 11 released chapters and i gotta say im loving it more and more each chapter. After re-reading the chapters again i noticed alot of little clues and things that could give away the 'Wolf'.

The Manga is definitely worth a 'read', it just seems sad that the story seems to be wraping up soon>.<. I think it would be sick if after the end there was a Higurashi style reset and the game starts over with a different wolf^.^

can someone give me a hint of who is the wolf?? i guess i kinda kno who that is but not sure o.o

Just read ch11 and... OMG! This manga is so freaking good!

Suspense is killing me, I'm dying to know who the wolf is! I know there aren't many options left but I would be expecting some interesting twist :D

seems interesting, i'll check it out. ive played this game b4 in class. the wolf is chosen, lights go off and heads down as he kills then we all discus and kill who we thought it was. it was rather fun even if i was found quickly. are players actually killed in the manga or is it just the electronic rabbits? nvm, i just finished reading ch1 and got my answer.

Wow. Just read chapter 12. I hate cliffhangers in these kinds of mangas. =\

X207 2008-06-30 22:27

Spoiler for chap 12 + speculations:

But anyway , I'm thinking , how long will this manga be anyway ? it seems to be approaching the end . Once the wolf is found and killed/win , will the author move on with another group of people , or will it be over ? I'd like it to continue. :(

I don't agree with that, it will became more or less like Higurashi. This way it's like more original.

X207 2008-07-03 00:18

the higurashi route sounds quite interesting to tell truth. i hope i goes on like that BC i liked how they dealt with the characters in the anime. took a while for me to get the right interpretation on how to view it but it sure was worth the end result.
