Returned to anime, any good new romance/comedy series been released?

So it's been over 2 years since I stopped watching anime like a fanatic.

I just became to busy but I have free time and I'm interested in some new romance/comedy series (I don't mind if they are also fantasy or action since I like them as well). I'd like to watch them with my girlfriend so Shojo suggestions are very welcome.

So anything good happen in the last 2 years? One note is tried Special A and found it to be a souless shadow of ouran.

I also kept up to date with darker than black and code geass just for note.

Thanks!

Nodame Cantabile and Cross Game would be my picks. Maybe Tale of Saiunkoku as well. (This item is on special at Amazon through July 26th.)

This thread might also give you some ideas.

Clannad and Clannad ~ After Story - if you haven't seen all of it. Must watch.
Kimi ni Todoke - for a recent shoujo

Agreed.

Also I'll say for non-shoujo Toradora is also an excellent romance comedy from 2008/2009. If you don't mind it being well a bit different maybe B Gata H Kei, or Bakemonogatari both have good bit of romance development and are hilarious at times.

And some decent ones Hatsukoi Limited, Nyan Koi, Amagami SS, and maybe Working.

Shoujo maybe Kobato?

Cross Game

Kimi No Todoke

Hot damn, how did I forget this?!

Seconded.

Thanks for the replies, I've seen Clannad but not the after story so I may check that out seeing as Kanon and Air were some f my all time favourite animes.

I'll start checking out Kimi No Todoke and Amagami SS as well as the others.

Well even if it's not I know more girls like the series than guys did at least my anime group xD. Beside the art style seemed shoujo-ish to me, though I suppose I haven't seen enough shoujo to judge that completely.

I would have to recommend Toradora! and Cross Game.

As for recommending recent romance shoujo titles, first i'll say you're doing a good job with checking out the superb Kimi ni Todoke. I'd also have to recommend Bokura ga Ita, Itazura na Kiss, Lovely Complex and NANA.

& one of the best shoujo comedy titles would have to be Ouran High School Host Club. This is a must watch show in my opinion.

Give Seitokai no Ichizon a try. Smart, insider comedy and a surprising amount of heart.

Kaze Shachou 2010-07-09 21:16

I'll agree with, Toradora!, Bakemonogatari, and Amagami SS.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama is another romance/comedy worth watching as well.
