Fate/Zero (Light Novel)

http://anime-comments.blogspot.com/2...fate-zero.html

New prequel to Fate/Stay Night is coming soon, talking about events 10 years before the Emiya Shirou's 5th Grail War.

Shiroth 2006-11-22 09:09

Might as well just post what i did in the game thread. :3

Just read up about this, not a bad idea at all - though its a shame it'll only be available at Comiket.

Official site~

Seriously.. i love the intro on the site. :3

Would it be a ero game ?
and Alexander the Great? hes just a normal human
But hey guns! What console will this be on?

stormy001_M1A2 2006-11-22 09:43

Well Kiritsugu did conceive Ilya with someone from Einzbern family, so maybe they will be ero scene.

Alexander the Great achievement even as human is legendary. So as time goes, his exploits becoming more and more like fable as humans remembered him. So, when he is summoned as Servant (I think as Rider class which pretty obvious with his steed, Buchepalas), he fits the classification as a hero or enrei.

fict_ticious 2006-11-22 14:38

I came.
Is this a visual novel or just a novel? My moon-language interpretation isn't so good.
Looks like we'll have the war of Kings a la Iskander, Gilgamesh, and Arthur :D

EDIT:
@stormy: The man's legacy is epic, but too bad his Hollywood movie sucked hard. I'm pretty sure his NP - or maybe, one of his NPs - royalty has a tendency to keep a crapload of treasures... well, maybe except for Arthur. - is Buchepalas. I could also imagine him in casual wear driving his master around.

MakubeX2 2006-11-22 17:12

So one year after the release of Ataraxia, they decide to fulfil their promise from that movie ad......

But I never expect them to team up with Nitro+

Fate with a twist of Cthulhu Mythos ?

Nasu Kinoko with his mage and Gen Urobuchi with his world views complete with monsters does sound fitting.

Illya, IIRC, was a humoculus created 19 years prior and kept in cold storage.

Sushi-Y 2006-11-22 18:08

Urobuchi Gen (scenario writer for Nitroplus games, ie. Saya no Uta) will be writing the novel, while Type-Moon (that is, Takeuchi-san) will be providing the illustrations.

Urobuchi-san writing a Fate scenario... should be interesting.

Type-Moon's booth at winter comiket is going to explode with people. :heh:

It's simply referred to as a "collaboration novel", and it says "written by: Urobuchi Gen" rather than something like "scenario: Urobuchi Gen", which means it's most likely a regular paper novel (probably like Kara no Kyoukai), not a game.

It's just my guess though, wait until 12/12 for more info.

When Kiritsugu arrived in Fuyuki city 10 years ago as Einsbern's master, Ilya and her mother Iris (アリスフィール, Irisviel) were already with him. Ilya was born (created, I guess) before Shirou, which is why she often acted like an oneesan towards him in hollow/ataraxia.

In any case, if this is going to be a paperback novel, there probably won't be any ero elements.

Shiroth 2006-11-22 18:55

More information on the novel shall be released on the 12/12/06 - probably more on the characters. I'm pretty sure there won't be any ero scenes.. though that does depend on how it'll play out.

Nitroplus? *Immediately thinks of kick ass robots and bloody internal organs*

Now how does this fit into the picture :heh:

The jig is up! :)

When I was posting regularly in the FSN image thread, I was almost entirely dependant on gamers for information to help me make the distinction between doujin artist fantasy/wishful thinking and genuine game spoilers. I looked at a lot of game discussions. Despite the fact that the two English-language Fate sites I viewed listed Ilya as several years younger than Shirou, there was always discussion board whispering about her actually being older.

At least for me, the anime seemed to support this. I found the animated Ilya to be cunningly seductive and manipulative. The younger she acted, the more it was reinforced. To me, it all seemed like a facade to win Shirou's (and maybe Tiger's) sympathy. I would have bet the farm that Ilya was a faux loli.

Until now, was there any definitive, canonical, in-game mention of Ilya's true age? Or were you all just psychic? ;)

Rich 2006-11-27 01:13

can anyone read jap because i have no clue what it says about fate zero. when is it releasing?

If I remember right, Ilya's past was pretty much cleared up by the end of Fate/stay night, but it wasn't until hollow ataraxia did they go into the details, such as Ilya's thoughts on Kiritsugu (her blood father), as well as her maids' functions in the case where Ilya becomes the grail, etc.

I don't remember Ilya's actual age (it might have been mentioned), only that she was born a few years before Shirou, which technically makes her his older sister (though with no blood relationship).

I think Ilya learned to drive during this period (in Fate/stay night, she drove Shirou in her Mercedes Benz 300SL coupe :heh: ). Apparently, the Mercedes was used quite frequently during the 4th war. ^^;

MakubeX2 2006-11-27 08:26

I just want to know Iskander's gender.

Alexandria The Conquress ! Yup. Sounds cool. Why not ?

vin.dictive 2006-11-27 08:54

I also wonder if Iskander's character design will be of proto-Saber or not (that is, if TYPE MOON doesn't to pull another 'Saber').

I'm sure seeing him/her in action is going to be a lot more interesting - all those stories. <3

I can imagine Type-Moon mixing legends of Boudicca into Iskander. Which makes things all the better.

Nice call, that would be pretty awesome to see - and that still means that Iskander's gender could be male or female. We all know what happened with Saber. :3
