It was obvious we were going to get original scenes in this episode seeing as though there's only one chapter of material here. The adaptation expanded on the search for Kanon (which was pretty pointless, though it was worth it for more cute Elsie), along with the last 7/8 or so minutes being scenes from Kanon's concert. Wasn't that bad really, because i enjoy her songs.

Glad they kept in the Ghost in the Shell reference. :heh:, plus more focus on the kiss scene was nice, though there was plenty of time for that.

Spoiler for Kaminomi 07 - Sing It!:

pampz21 2010-11-17 14:13

Spoiler for ...:

nxt episode: coupling with...

serenade_beta 2010-11-17 14:47

Yeah...
I know the staff wants to give her a big push and everything (there is supposed to be a live concert and all...), but yeah...
Totally didn't need three episodes to do this story. If they took out some of the singing (oh please do), I'm sure it was quite possible.

Anyways, the end was pretty mediocre. Nothing much to see. Although a bunch of singing at the end was, in a different meaning, memorable.
Though I did get a laugh over how the chanting sounded more like "Gao~~n" than "Kano~n", the fact that if her kiss with Keima was found out, she would be doomed, and over how she became a star (according to Keima, and in another meaning, means she died and went to heaven).

Nishieda... :heh:

Nice ending, I definitely felt something. Should have ended at the ballad though, but what the hell, there wasn't much time left for anything else anyway. Doryo doryo doryo doryo doryo

9/10
No problem with the animation, though I would have loved to see Kanon dance to Happy Crescent like she did in the TV program in the episode prior. That dancing choreography was sweet.

The search was stretched out as expected and I didn't exactly feel sad for Kanon, but given her situation having a loose soul inside her and also that her situation is much more emphasized than in the source material, call it filler or not, was very nice in its own sense to me. However the thing about the two Citron members didn't really help the impact on Kanon's past. Probably because it wasn't shown how they had a grudge against her to begin with, if they actually had one.
To be honest, I kinda feel bad for those two.:heh:
All in all I felt like reading a respective manga chapter, and I mean one of the shorter ones, because the episode kind of flew by.
Not in a bad sense, but not good either. Not too much happened, that actually reminded me of a certain Fortune Arterial episode, just better executed.:)

The kissing scene seemed a little bit abrupt, the way she ran back and then full stops. And she was kind of moving to the bgm. Like "now the climax of the bgm is up, time for the kiss". The kiss itself I found beautiful as usual, maybe she could have moved her body closer to Keima, that would've made me go more "d'awww" than I already did.

I didn't find the songs Kanon sings special in the beginning but they grew closer to my heart with this episode. Especially the first song was nice (and it's not one she sang before so yay!).:D

About Elsie - cute as always. Clumsy as ever. The brain-dead parts got me, she doesn't even deny it... :p
She's more interesting when she messes something up so gogo, Elsie!
About Keima - really good moment when he denied Kanon at first. Not because I don't like her, but I just waited for something to actually trigger the end.
Not remembering it in the manga helps, too.:heh:

While Kanon was singing her first song at the concert, it flashes back to her quick meeting with Keima in that cafe, as if a memory to her. Does this mean that Kanon actually remembers the time she spent with Keima, unlike the other girls he "conquered"? Or is this another anime filler scene?

It would be interesting if she continues to remember Keima, and he actually has to deal with it at some point in the future. Imagine how he will have to handle trying to get a girl, while another one remembers? A two-timing dilemna.

Oh, good eyes there. That's actually a very good question. Though being a flashback, it's natural for it to be not a scene adapted from the manga so call it filler if you will.

It would definitely be interesting if she did remember. And maybe it would change people's opinions who dislike Kanon in case he's gotta cope with not only the capture target Keima's working on.

The scene itself is anime filler. However, it's anime filler that makes sense and actually flows very well with the manga. I can tell you this. Your questions do have definite answers. Just that they won't be answered in this season. Or for quite a while after actually looking back on it.

I felt the episode was pretty good with some cute Elsie moments, but Her ballad was just beautiful  and concert was very well animated too so cause of that, me liking Kanon more after this episode, and my enjoying her singing I give this episode a 10 :).

What reference was that?, I might have missed it.

Jaden 2010-11-17 16:42

Kanon was rather easy in the end. Actually Keima didn't have to do much at all to get her, could it be he's becoming popular? If so that's a little boring. His galge schemes are the best part about this anime.

I can't say the concert and stuff was bad, though I do question the music...I have to be in the right mood to appreciate jpop and even then I can't tolerate a lot of it. Couldn't it have been a rock idol instead?

Ah, I see it now. Been ages since I saw the movie, but I think it's:

Spoiler:

I never noticed it in the manga... :/

Episode was great, didn't feel dragged although it's quite lengthy. And the first song at the start of the concert was kinda unexpected too

Yeah that's the one. It's a classic scene from the intro scene in the first Ghost in the Shell film. I can't blame you for missing it in the manga, because it's not exactly obvious, compared to the adaptation.

When they finally kissed I was thinking "Wow, a game that plays itself," because Keima did so little to actually win her over.

I definitely enjoyed this episode more than the last one. I could have done without all the singing, but it was easy to ignore since the story was basically done at that point.

This would have been a lot better if they had gotten it done in two, or maybe even two and a half episodes, though.

Is it me or was Kanon the first girl to visibly effect Keima?

I really dislike all the blushing embarrassed Keima we see in the anime. He was never this embarrassed though he did blush occasionally in the manga.

I disliked the concert, it was way too long. I was hoping we'd get to see some of the Kanon after stuff but I guess not. Honestly about Kanon still remembering, How do we know the other two girls didn't remember Keima after their spirits left? We cut to the next day and see they don't remember then but we didn't see anything of them right after the spirit came out. I guess I'm saying Hell hasn't gotten to Kanon yet since it hasn't been that long.

It's you. Keima is all business.

Zanibas 2010-11-17 18:38

The plot was weaker than the previous arcs, her character wasn't all that relate-able, but MAN, when she sang that ballad, I'm like, "Screw all the other stuff, I want the full version of this!"

I also liked Keima's comment at the end. Although I haven't read the manga, I think it's appropriate to show Keima's more tender side. Sure, he may proclaim his love for dating sims, but not many guys can avoid embarrassment when they go through the stuff Keima has gone through :P
