Sengoku Basara

Animation Production: Capcom, Production I. G. Genre: Feudal Japan, War Expected Release Date: Spring 2009 Website: http://www.sengokubasara.tv/ This anime adaptation will be based on the game which I've never played. Apparently, the game was a best seller. I'm interested because Production I. G's name is mentioned under the production company. A trailer can be found in the official website. The synopsis in the following is also stolen from there: confronted each other in an endless struggle for power. Ambitious daimyos from every corner of the Archipelago had shouted their battle cry. They were Takeda Shingen from Kai, Sanada Yukimura, Uesugi Kenshin from Echigo, Azai Nagamasa from Omi, Tokugawa Ieyasu from Mikawa, and many more... |
@monir: The game was by Capcom, and was noted for being particularly heavy in the VA department. Off my mind, I can recall Koyasu Takehito, Ishida Akira and Hoshi Soichiro for the gents, and Noto Mamiko, Pak Romi, and Kuwatani Natsuko for the ladies.
I wonder which character's Story Mode will go into the anime? |
Finally!!!! A Sengoku BASARA thread!!!!!!
*turns on fangirl mode* Hmm, I don't think it will follow a particular Character route...probably it will pick up sth here and there and mostly focus on the main four/five(?) or even only on Masamune and Yukimura... |
I didn't play the game, but had the pleasure of listening in to Yukimura at a gameshop once. I couldn't in my life figure out that the lad was Soichiro, without the credits. He's completely unlike his characters whom I'm familiar with.

Sadly, in the US, the dubbed version... Well, I'll leave you to explore that.
But, Pak Romi voicing another ice person. Kinda funny. |

If the games are anything to go by, I think I'll go with the mentality of "Strap yourself in. It's going to be one hell of a ride."

I can't be the only one having images of Bleach/Gundam Seed/Code Geass flashing through my head as I sit through the character intros, can I?

LOL, I also have those kinds of Mousou..... LOL Keiji, LOL Nobunaga, LOL Takenaka, LOL Hideyoshi, LOL Sasuke BTW, add Gintama for Masamune~~ |
Well, it's not hard where you have half the cast doing their trademark voices. Without looking at the video, any anime fan who listens to the original track can easily pick out
1) Koyasu Takehito 2) Nakai Kazuya (His character just screams Zoro) 3) Noto Mamiko 4) Morita Masakazu (Ichigo, is that you?) 5) Ishida Akira 6) Wakamoto Norio 7) Pak Romi (Kenshin = Hitsuguya on a good day) |

8) Okiayu Ryotaro 9) Nakahara Shigeru |
Aye, yes! Can't forget our Andrew.
But, I have the thought that it might suck, ala Samurai Deeper Kyo. They wasted a good cast with the anime. |
Well, we all know that Basara is a Seiyuu-fest (LOL at its KOEI counterpart<- Actually I am more into the Musou series)...
Hopefully they keep the cast in the Anime.... |
Well, the Musou games had their fair share of reasonably famous guys. I mean: Kanna Nobutoshi (Guts in Beserk) as Cao Pi, Onosaka Masaya as Zhao Yun and Zhuge Liang. Over at Samurais, Midorikawa Hikaru and Shidou Naomi counts as well.

Nakai is also there as Dian Wei and Xiahou Dun... Well, it seems that the Samurai Warriors cast is far better... We have Kamiya as Nagamasa, Hiyama Nobuyuki as Masamune and Fuuma Kotaro, Kusao Takeshi as Yukimura and so on.... In Samurai Warriors 2 XL, they added Okiayu and Konishi.... Err, we are slightly off topic.... How long would be SB Anime? Typical 25 episodes? |
Well, the main site says that the series will start in April. Best to put the thread on ice until Feb.
|
Hmm, the recent Animedia issue has covered Sengoku Basara a little bit.
Sarutobi Sasuke, Kasuga, Uesugi Kenshin and Takeda Shingen will keep their original seiyuu. |
