This... feels unnecessary with the existence of the manga thread.

Quoted for emphasis.

ViVid isn't just a short "All There in the Manual" style story like the other manga have been. ViVid and Force should have their own threads, since they are technically the "fourth season" of Nanoha.

RadiantBeam 2009-08-22 16:01

There's no reason though because it's still manga, and they both fall under the catagory of Nanoha manga discussion. Having a seperate thread for both of them seems like a waste.

Truth. Manga thread is for manga discussion. Not only certain Nanoha manga. This thread is unnecessary.

synaesthetic 2009-08-22 21:18

If the mods didn't want this thread here it wouldn't have been created since you know, we don't have access to do so without asking them.

Unless it was made without permission from the mods and they haven't noticed it yet.

There's no reason for this thread to exist seperately from the manga thread. The manga thread is for discussion of Nanoha manga, in all its shapes and forms. Vivid and Force are both Nanoha manga, regardless of plot and appearance. There's no need for them to have their own threads.

This thread wasn't made by a mod, so it was probably moved here or made without permission.

Rising Dragon 2009-08-22 22:09

In likelihood it was moved here by a mod who was unaware of the Manga Thread's existence.

synaesthetic 2009-08-22 22:40

I understand the need for organization but sometimes it is really hard to go through a thread with multiple hundreds of pages when the search function is utter bunk.

Now this thread has gone completely offtopic and been derailed entirely.

MeisterBabylon 2009-08-22 22:58

Let's stop and make use of it then! Come on, a dedicated thread to mein Kaiser is the embodiment of her infinite will!

So let's bask in her lolitius glory and be merry. :D

That said, I have no idea how to kick off this thread proper... Post summaries so far perhaps? :heh:

I just wrote a blog entry briefly reviewing this manga, though with the broader (and earlier) focus being on the three animes. You have to scroll down to where I mention this manga in red text if you want to just read the manga review.

You can find it here:

http://assessingtheanime.blogspot.co...y-numbers.html

It's a bit of a long read, but it's all about Nanoha, so I think that at least some folks here might enjoy reading it. :)

nice review, but you are a wee bit incorrect about the bath scene. Parents bathe with their young children (more like one parent does) in japan, its normal enough. So this is innocent, but still gratuitous from a fan pov.

there's no sex implied, just stupid extra nudity

GAH! MY EYES! THEY BLEED!

*Turns on the light* Oh, good, they stopped...

(The blog was rather dark in color (compared to this site) then I popped right back over here, stark contrast.)

As for what you had there...

Yep... That *IS* the problem with Nanoha right now. Character inflation with lots of protagonists?

I still say that Sound Stage X (being rather important to the plot of ViVid) should get an OVA or something.

Thanks for the info and I'm glad you liked the review! Your info does make me feel a fair bit better about that scene.

So... this gives Nanoha ViVid a 9/10 ranking for me. Very good for a manga, as I'm more of an anime guy myself.

Heh, finding a good blog look appears to be my biggest challenge. :heh:

The cast is just too big for its own good. This could be an asset though - you could easily have three good almost entirely separate animes with this cast!

When I read ViVid, I got the sense that there's a big gap between Striker S and this, and that a fair bit happened in that gap... leaving me a bit in the dark. :heh:

Animating Sound Stages would help a lot here, agreed.

Four years, with Sound Stage X happening 1 year before ViVid...

I did the years that the major events happen by the Midchildan calandar...

65 - Precia Testatrossa and Book of Darkness incident.
67 - Nanoha gets severely injured and recovers along with Hayate. Both use Zafira to help them get around when not in wheelchairs
71 - Distant Finale of As, Subaru and Ginga are saved from an airport fire by Nanoha and Fate respectively.
75 - Jail Scagiletti
78 - Sound Stage X
79 - ViVid
81 - Force

Where is it mentioned that Nanoha and Hayate recover with each other and use Zafira to walk around?
